Does anyone know anything about Herbalife?
My husband and I recently joined a weight loss challenge that a very good friend of mine is having. We show up at the meeting facility and find out that it is Herbalife. Ok, so my hubby and I are both overweight and I know firsthand that my friend and her husband both lost a total of 100 lbs combined on the program.
Ok so, they and others keep telling us that the products are 100% safe to take with our high blood pressure pills. I am just a Weight Watchers believer and feel that taking pills and shakes for a weight loss are not safe. I am torn, my husband says "lets give it a try" and I still feel uneasy taking some pills.
Anyway...does anyone out there have any advice or knowledge of others that have done Herbalife?
Another thing is that I KNOW that Herbalife is a MLM scheme and that my friends (even though they say they are not doing anything underhanded) are trying to pull one over on us.
When my friend goes and figures out how much it will cost for me and my husband to get all of the pills and shakes, she adds it all up for 2 complete kits for a month of products and then she says, I am going to just go ahead and make you both "distributors" and that will cost another 60.00 but you will then qualify for a bigger discount.
Anyway.....when she adds it all up AND adds in a distributor fee AND then gives us a "supposed" 30% discount...it is still going to cost us $400.00 !!!!!! for one month of products.
I went to Ebay and bought the same stuff and more from someone for under 200.00 this week.
I just received the huge box of stuff and now are taking it all for the first time today.
I just want to hear from others on you opinions on all of the Herbalife stuff.

Why would you both be a distributor..all you would need is one????
I did lose weight, but it had ephedra in it
I keep thinking..."why would my friends that I have had for a long time steer me to something harmful" but then again....money talks for some people.
I haven't broke the news to them yet and haven't decided what to tell them yet.

i am still unsure if this is more of a MLM or do they care about people losing weight?
Which is more important to them?
I bought the stuff so much cheaper on Ebay and only interested in the weight loss part of the herbalife stuff.
I did read on rip off reports that several said they lost weight on the program but also lost a ton of money.
I think i may try this stuff just for a month only and then see what happens (unless they pills make me feel bad then...it's over)
I will definitely sell the stuff again on Ebay if I have any left over stuff..... :-)
I'm not really a fan of the pill thing (I've tried a few but they didn't really work for me).
sorry
As far as Amway and HerbalLife, they are two totally separate companies. Amway owns and operates Nutrilite which is a vitamin and supplement manufacturer. Not rating them just pointing out that they are very different.
If your friend is a true friend, they will be happy you found it elsewhere cheaper!
I knew someone who sold it back in the 70s. Like you've been advised here, don't do it until you've spoken to your doctor. I'm personally against any kind of weight loss supplements that are not going to be a part of a diet for life. Never having had a weight problem, I've never taken any of this stuff, but I wouldn't even if I had. There's nothing to replace a good and sound basic diet and regular exercise.
As far as the financial aspect, if you're doing it because you think that you're going to make money, you're most likely not. This is a pyramid, whether they want to call it that or not. The people at the top are the only ones who are going to make any significant money. The products in MLM companies tend to be sold at inflated prices to make enough money for the many people who get a cut.
Good luck - and I hope your batch of Herbal Life does NOT have ephedra....it can be really nasty if used wrong
The MLM model will make you money ;if thats what your looking for but the product has average results with compared to what is available today. As a fellow military Veteran my Army triaing has done more for me that any so called weight loss products.
Just stopping by 2 say...
I hope you made your decision shortly after this. I hope you were able to find out what you needed to know.
I definitely would not be duped into being a distributor.
I've been buying my products from http://beachbodycoach.com/krissyw. Yes, you CAN become a fitness coach and earn money for losing weight, but if you aren't interested you can still buy just the products from the store at that link. These products are awesome.
I recently did the two day fast. The drinks were delicious and I lost 8.5 pounds. Now I've started the Power90 program and it's killer! I'm loving it!
