Heartbreak

Sad as it is

Fight on to live
Fight on to hope
Fight on to change
Fight on to cope

No one knows
The pain you feel
No one knows
How raw the deal

Life goes on
Days come and go
It feels sad
Like no one knows

Take my word
Love is alive
As God is always
By your side

Now new love
Can come your way
You'll look back
Glad you "got away"


(We all go through hearbreak in our lives. We all are devasted when our first love that we thought was forever turns out not to be. This is what this poem is about, not a current event in my life)

I cried three days straight when I lost my first 'love'. When I met David, I realized I had only thought I had been in love before. But it seemed real and painful at the time.
