"Hey, lady, I'm a still life. Take my picture. I want to be in the Intense Photo Challenge. Look how still I can sit? Come on, lady, those people on Gather don't care about wasp's nests, lady's busts, and lace gloves."

"Come on Mistress Elizabeth, I'm sitting real still on the couch. Just take a few pictures. You told my Mistress the photos had to be black and white, I'm black you know...so what more could you ask for, huh? What do you want to take a picture of that old dried up yellow rose in a red bowl for?"

"Oh, you say you want black and white. Well, let me arrange myself on that white pillow. No problem at all."

"A few more adjustments and ta-dah, black on white".

"What do you mean, your not going to take my picture? I'm not a suitable subject, what do you want lady, anyhow?" Oh, there she goes again....rearranging more stuff. Now she's going outside.

"I wonder what I have to do to attract her attention....maybe I could stand next to that swan. That's white...ummm...I'm black....yes, perfect black and white photo."

"What's that you say, Mistress Elizabeth? There's another contest on Gather? Dan Tompkin's running a Furs Chapter Contest....and I can be in that contest? Alright. This looks like it's going to be a good day afterall!"

Do you want to send this to the Triple Name Club?
According to Dan Tompkin's rules for this contest, one can only post to one group, otherwise I would have posted to Triple Name Club. Down below in "Related Articles" click on Dan's articles for the rules.
Your Mom was correct. Yesterday the nurses told us that Mom had a urinary tract infection as well as other problems. Soon enough I will be traveling once more to Quincy...need to take a shower, etc.
Thanks Charlene....my sister's house is a treasure box with all kinds of interesting artifacts.
I shall have to go look to see if you've posted them already.
That was a fun read - thank you!
Gabrielle is a poodle. When Fran first got her a year ago, the people at the Pound said she was a mixed poodle/Maltese pup but Fran's vet says she's a poodle. Who knows? She was found running loose on Love Street in Quincy...that's really all they know about her. She is a love bug.
Gabby is darling. Fran has always had big dogs...really big dogs....so it came as a surprise when she brought this little girl home from the pound. But now Gabby rules the house!
You are such a dog! I mean dog person....you always rout for the dog!
You wouldn't believe how many times we positioned the objects. And how we interchanged them.
As for Mom....she had a great day today. I think the meds are kicking in...she was happy, laughing and just plain enjoying herself. She kept up with the conversations flowing around the table. It was wonderful seeing her in such a positive frame of mind.
Good for you for getting a start on the still life photo. I'm procrastinating. I have a hard time arranging. I prefer to notice how well someone else has already arranged things - and then I take a photo. LOL!
You have plenty of time. The contest runs till July 31...almost a whole month. It was a real fun exercise...but of course Fran has a whole house as well as a barn full of artifacts to arrange.Never got in the barn yesterday...maybe another day when I'm up near the city. Fran lives about a ten minute ride from the hospital Mom is in so it's a good stop-over for me coming from the Cape.
Wait a minute...my mind is confused...Intense Challenge only runs for a week...it's Dan's contest that runs for a month. Maybe I need meds! Lol!
Yeah, it's a month.
That wasp nest sure gets around!
I have no idea about channeling...I'm just flowing down the river in my canoe without a paddle! Hitting a few rocks on the way...but still afloat!
It was fun roaming around Fran's house...picking up this and that and making compositions. And as I wandered, Gabby was at my heels. She is well loved and enjoys being the center of Fran and Fred's attention.
Yesterday when I was at Fran's house, Gabby kept hopping up on my lap, running around my feet...it was almost as if she knew she had been a star on Gather the last few days!
In our family, though money has never been a problem, AKC dogs have never found a home. Maybe it's because we as a people are not hybrids. Irish, French, English, and Native American blood runs through our veins. In our minds, far better to adopt a homeless pup with obscured background then one with blood lines that can be traced far back in time.
Gabby has Fran snowed too!
