Midnight oasis: A forum where letters run
Became ghostly silenced as vertigo was sung
For steps a dirge was dancing, devoid of belief
With telltale signs of sorrow grinding down on me
And now on the front lines, a battle I must wage
From instructions on a blank page demanding change
The machines were raging and I just in a gown
Felt so defenseless, being probed with eerie sounds
Answering so many questions strapped on a bed
I knew the verdict before the sentence was read
The third floor was like an island for broken souls
People of all ages with hopes to be made whole
So many sad sad faces filled with agony
An unsaid anthem, 'Why did this happen to me?'
As I looked at these surroundings feeling the same
I, a pampered prisoner, hoping to be saved
My right arm was flaccid, my right hand could not grip
I could not wiggle my right foot toes even one bit
That was my bleakest moment as I sat and cried
A therapist told me there's hope, if I would try
I asked God to help me and then I gave my best
Pain would not stop me on this path of my conquest
Now I'm home and I still have much left to do
I'm typing left handed, but this line I typed with
My right hand: Difficult, yes, but my spirit proves
'I can' for that is a belief that rings with truth

I started this poem at 6 p.m. It is not easy typing left handed, but I will try to make some comments to your articles next week.
There, I am typing this with my left hand to show solidarity :-)
I know you will get better because it is a simple enough plan.
Use that good mind of yours to believe you are better and it will help make it so.
Really good poem too.
~Sláinte~
Are your son and daughter on a paid vacation now that you can type for yourself?
I'll continue to keep you in my prayers for daily improvements.
If you haven't gotten a copy of The Secret I urge you to do so now. It will help you in your recovery.
huggs and a big smooch
Blessings
its so nice to have you back where you belong!
You're looking swell, William,
we can tell, William,
you're still crowin',
you're still growin',
you're still goin' strong!
We feel Gather swayin'
'cause our eyes are layin'
on a new poem written by our treasured friend!
So, welcome back, William,
awesome to have you back, William,
fully recoup and never leave again!

Obviously, your talent has not been affected by this temporary setback.
Your line about "the third floor was like an island for broken souls" was especially poignant for me as I work on the 3rd floor of our hospital. I was thinking this morning how that applies to all of our patients who also "have hopes to be made whole."
I knew you would be back with a wealth of new experiences from which to draw inspiration.
I think you are doing great. Walking around, writing new articles.
When I had my stroke I was out for a month , knew nothing.
YOu know now that God truly loves you with all his heart . Take care of you and we will be watching for reports on your progess. I think you are doing great.
You're back !!! Welcome home.
hugs
Let's thank God for that and your superb strength of spirit. Your ecovery will depend a lot on your will power and that you have.
You also have us on the sidelines cheering you on. Take it easy Bill. There is a time for everything but NEVER give up hope. We want you back. We need to read poems such as this one.
My prayers for you continue. All our prayers together will be heard.
I am so happy for you and praying for you in your fight to be whole,,,
You write beautifully and must continue,,, one hand or two,,, just keep going,,,
God Bless you William my dear,,, thank you for your comments too,,,
I kinda like it William, so glad you are home. Do take it easy
and keep your mind set on getting better as each day passes
something new will happen to cheer you on to the road to full
recovery my dearest friend. Your mind is just as sharp this poem
proved that to me and everyone else. Step by step take it slow
and let your strength begin to grow more and more with each
day that passes. You and family will remain in my prayers each
day many times a day, I know God hears our prayers William.
Loved the poem.
