Time flies - so the old people say! This past week nothing much happened or so I thought, until I looked at the pictures I had taken.
Tuesday afternoon I received a frantic phone call for a last minute birthday get-together at a local restaurant called BJ's Brewhouse. So as soon as Richard walked in the door, about 5:15, I told him .
Bless his heart, he had already stopped on the way home from work to pick up a birthday card.
A few minutes later we received a call asking us to stop by their house first, so we could admire the flocked yard.
Dinosaurs for the flocked yard - I sure hope they don't do that to me when I get old.

As we were heading out to the truck, there is movement in the grass.
Yup, there it is, our house snake - a black racer. He was several feet long.
I kept my distance as I reached for my camera.

When we finally made it to BJ's Brewhouse, I tried one of their dark brews, a stout.
We were a big party and one of us ordered their sampler - a foursome.
They do brew their own beer - the white one is called a cider beer. I think I'll stick with my stout:)

Rave - Tuesday my book from gather arrived - to be reviewed by yours truly.
I'm so thrilled to get a chance to read and review this book!
THANK YOU GATHER!!! Watch for my upcoming review of this book:

Mini Raves
Wednesday, my product coupon from gather arrived - yay, I'm curious to see what the product will taste like. THANK YOU again, GATHER!!!
I got a new printer! Actually an all-in-one.
It is an HP Photosmart C-6280 and yay, it talks to my Vista desktop.
Easy set up and install too.
Richard was cool and installed it for me the same night, because wouldn't you know it, I needed the scanner and printer for business that very day.
I was thinking that JR (j frugal mom) my gather friend, would be proud of me. In total I saved $82 on the printer (rebates and a $10 coupon) plus we can use their coupon of $20 on the Anti Virus software and HP gives you 25 free pictures at snapfish.
Sweet deal! The one photo I printed so far really impressed me with the quality too.

Above: The stars and stripes is just a hair clip I wore on the Fourth.
On the way home we stopped at the local fruit stand for these juicy Georgia peaches.
I intended to fix a peach cobbler for the Fourth, which somehow turned into a peach pie.
The fruits of summer:)

Thursday
We wanted to take my car in for a check-up, since it has been acting up and making all sorts of strange noises. Alas, we ended up bringing it back home because the repair shop could not get to it.
We spent a couple hours for nothing....
Grrr - waste of time!
I'll be dropping it off this week ....
The countdown for our trip to Europe is on.
We stopped in at AAA to have them issue us an International Driver's License.
While there, we checked into some travel tour guides and maps and Euro Rail passes.
26 more days - I am starting to feel really excited about our trip!

Thank you for coming along for a tour of my world - I enjoyed your company.
Hope you are all having a great week!
Here is the birthday boy - being a good sport about it all!

sounds like a great week.
Enjoyed drinking those beers with you but don't do stout as it is too heavy for me.
Great news on the book and book review.
Great news on the new printer!! It looks like a beaut and the red/white/blue bow is so cute!!
And so you're going to Europe and doing the Eurail thing?? Are you booking nights in hotels or are you going to stay in pensions?? The latter is always your best bet but to each his own. You're going to have to tell me where you are going as I am so jealous!
All in all a great article!! ;)
Seriously though, I really enjoyed reading your article.
my group
Jo Anne - oh well, he's the house snake - they eat the rats in the fruit trees. If you don't bother it, it won't bother you.
Esther - hey girl, thanks for having a brew with me. I do love that printer. Now I wish I'd gotten it sooner. Euro Rail pass - I'm not sure if it will make sense for us, we might just opt for a ticket to Munich/Garmisch and another to Paris or Amsterdam - we'll see.
There will be some B&B, but also staying with family and friends.
Ryan - yup they were - they did great job on those brews.
Chuck - thank you.
Nana - I had to laugh at your comments. I must be the same age as you:) Now that I'm gathering I take my camera everywhere - so the pictures just happened and it made me realize, a few things did happen after all.
The flocked yard was just too cool not to share.
Sandi - thank you:)
Marianne - I didn't know what to expect either - I'd heard the term, but I'd never actually seen it.
We usually travel south this time of year and I load up on those GA peaches, I can almost smell them through the screen...jealous.
Looks like a fun and busy week...if I find a snake like that in my yard, I'm moving.
The flocked yard was rather cool! I've enver seen one before~
Peaches - so yummy!
We had a racer snake here at our house once, it was cool to see, so fast too@!
That was funny!
Congrats on your new printer too.
Beautiful photo essay!
Robin - thanks for stopping buy.
Priscilla - good to know that you had good experience with the same printer, I agree the photo was impressive.
Monica - thank you - he took it all in stride:), he's wonderful guy.
Sherrie - I'm cool with the snake, but I do keep my distance and boy do they run fast - racer indeed.
Amy - thanks - the peaches were sweet and juicy. We may get one more batch, before the season is over.
I LOVE the idea of the "flocking" dinosaurs in the yard! From the sign, it looks as though there's a company that one calls that comes and does this? Do you know anything about them? Do they do other types of "creatures", etc.? I think a business like that would be a HOOT to own or work for, don't you? I could just see "flocks" of plastic pink flamingoes or penguins or dairy cows or horses... the possibilities are ENDLESS!!! I really like the idea of it -- a LOT!
I really envy you your new printer... Mine conked out about 2 months ago... BUMMER!
:^( I was supposed to get a new one with the tax rebate but... well... stuff happens and my Jeep needed a new thermostat so, there the money went... oh, well... someday... **sigh**
I like the hairbow, too! ;o)
Regarding "cider beer": We have a local tavern that serves apple, berry & pear hard, carbonated ciders called "Ace in the Hole". Their pear cider is TO DIE FOR!! Especially on a hot day... It's crisp and refreshing -- absolutely WONDERFUL!! You should try it!
Katherine - thank you I was trying to keep it entertaining.
C.F. (Chris) - I am so wound up to go to Europe you have no idea. Amsterdam is a possibility although not a certainty.
your dinosaur friend looks great for 70 ... Blessings to all...
I love this. This is well put together. And the colors and imagery are very nice ~ scary snake thought ~ lol . . .
Blessings ~
Rene
I envy you your trip to Europe. The only place that I have ever been in Europe is London for 4 days. Not enough time to do it justice.
I am excited about the book you are reviewing!
Jo C - no, the snake is a racer - not poisenous at all. In fact we are glad he's around since he eats rats and mice. They are very fast - hence racer. I'll start on the book review soon, I may read some tonight and tomorrow night - really looking forward to that.
Fern - oh ya.:)
Marge 4 days in London is a good thing, but I know - it isn't enough time to see all.
Marianne K - I am glad you stopped by, where are you headed to in Europe?
Necee and C.F. - my friends - glad you enjoyed it all - it is nice to have friends to share with.
Delaune - however, do you find the time to comment - thank you so much.
Renee - thank you for your nice comment.
This is a great way to portray your week. I don't care for the snake pic though. I really don't like snakes. I hope you have a fantastic time on your vacation. You will have to give me a tour when you return.
awesome deal on the printer and the peaches look SO good!
see ya soon...
