Some statistics about these "hard working" people who commit a federal crime by "breaking" into our country.
The number of illegals in the USA is placed between 11 million and 18 million that equals 3%-5% of our total population.
That 3%-5% make 8% of our prison population. The average annual cost to house an inmate was around $22,600. That's over $2 billion annually.
An FTC survey showed 246,035 identity theft victims nationwide who reported at least one type of identity theft to the FTC in 2006. Employment-related fraud comprised 14 percent of the complaints. You could be next.
24.5% of aliens receive social services of some type.
84 hospitals closed in California in 2005. Florida estimates the cost to treat aliens at $40 million for 2002. Think this has no effect on you? Guess again, in 2005 Bush signed a bill to reimburse states $1 billion for these costs.
Every month we see the employment stats come out. I don't find these stats very accurate because they only include the people on unemployment and not the ones who it has run out on. Millions of jobs would open up by ending employment of illegals.
These costs get passed on to every citizen of this country. So, for those of you who have no contact with aliens and feel bad for the ones you see on TV, think about your taxes.

Second, it seems far too easily forgotten that one must be an U.S. citizen in order to warrant the rights afforded to a citizen. That should be the end of discussion.
Third, legal immigrants working alongside native born citizens have made this country what it is. We have thrived on the contributions of immigrants and will usually need them, though to varying degrees, throughout most sectors of our economy. The problem is that we cannot afford to turn a blind eye to those who enter illegally, ignore our laws and seek to subvert our culture and national values. We welcome those who follow the rules, learn the English language, and respect our sovereignty. As illegal immigrants, it is not only offensive but also ridiculous to ask for rights, which they have not earned nor are entitled to.
Let's secure our borders by building the fence so we have an effective and controlled immigration system at the same time as we enforce our currently existing immigration laws. During this interval we encourage illegals to depart (attrition through enforcement). Once our borders are secured and we have a grip on a functional system of immigration, we move against those illegals that have refused to leave. We should never ever grant amnesty.
We tried 'comprehensive immigration reform' in 1986. We gave amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens in exchange for the government promising to secure the borders, conduct workplace enforcement and enforce immigration law. It didn't work because the government lied and did nothing other than process the amnesty paperwork. Due to that folly, we now have 20 Million or more illegal aliens here demanding amnesty.
Don't you think it is far beyond time that we engage in Comprehensive Immigration ENFORCEMENT rather than Comprehensive Immigration Reform (amnesty)?
But in your other article you said " We wouldn't have 27% of our prisons populated by illegal aliens which would also cut costs." 8% or 27%? Which is it? If you're going to throw these statistics around trying to people all riled up against illegal immigrants, it would be nice if you could tell us where the numbers come from, and explain the inconsistencies.
" They get benefits that a American can't get free schooling free food free hospital benefits."
To my knowledge, this is simply untrue. All children in the US, whether they, or their parents, are in the US legally, have the right to an education at a public school. I think that's a good thing.
Just like I think it's best if people who are hungry are given food, regardless of whether they have any money, or whether they, or their parents, are in the US legally.
And emergency rooms are required to help people, regardless of whether they can afford to pay for that help, or whether they, or their parents, are in the US legally. I think that's a good thing, too.
You're welcome.
Surely opening up the prison gates to cut expenses to taxpayers isn't a good idea, regardless of the inmates' immigration status. So I'm not really sure why those numbers are significant.
