One of the biggest challenges that business owners face is that there is just not enough time to do everything. In my case, I own a network of about 50 or so web properties and it is a daunting task to give attention to all of them. Sure, when you are starting out and don't really have a budget to get everything done, you might do all the work yourself, but at some point you will realize that you just have too much to do.
I learned this lesson when I started a blog posting service and started writing articles. I had a network of about 15 blogs that I was writing unique articles and I was writing them all myself. Now, I don't know if you have tried to write about a certain subject from 15 different points of view, but it gets tough.
For the first few months, things were going great, but it was progressively taking longer and longer to write the articles, and I eventually got behind. I had my back against the wall, and I needed to figure something out to keep the business going, or I would lose everything.
After a bit of trial and error (and a few writers later), I realized that I could still keep the bulk of the profits, and do less work. In fact, I was able to reduce my workload by 75% and still keep about 50% of the profits - not bad at all.
With the extra time, I was able to focus on creating new businesses and explore other opportunities that I would have previously not had the time for.
As it turns out, outsourcing was the best thing that I could do for my business.
