In the spirit of the Fourth of July weekend,
I thought I'd share some of
my red, white and blue
garden blooms with you.
The white frangipani (plumeria) is loving the heat and is blooming up a storm.
See the one tiny bloom in the center just starting to open.

This picture of a full bloom was taken a month ago - looking fat and happy.

Plumbago is a bush and comes in blue and white.
The picture below was taken at a friend's house.
Stephanie left her plant in a pot and added a pretty iron trellis for decor.

My plumbago is already six or seven years old and is a mature bush.
I like the pretty blue color of the bloom, which sometimes has a lavender hue to it - photographed in my garden today.
An attractive plant that is easy care once established.
My next red candidate for this
red, white and blue garden edition
is our powder puff tree.

Those blooms are so fascinating. When you touch them, they do feel just like a powder puff.
The leaves have a graceful arch to them. It's a small tree only about ten feet.
Coming up below is a wild elderberry tree with lovely white, scented blooms.
The flowers look like lace.

Over in my herb garden I have a bluish purple plant (salvia?) which has been blooming profusely for weeks now.
It livens up a corner of my herb garden - it loves the heat as long as it also get some water.

My neighborhood is usually decorated around the holidays and
I thought you might enjoy the pretty flag decorations
on display in my neighborhood.

Caladium leaves come in many colors, but I prefer the white ones, because they will brighten up a shady garden area.
The first couple of plants I purchased at $4.95, then a friend told me I could buy the bulbs for 50 cents.
Nice result for 50 cents, huh?

Sitting in a pot on the old carport wall, here is a kitty peeking out from behind a curtain of red mille bells.
I know she's a bit worse for wear and dilapidated, because she has been glued many times. She lost her blue ribbon around her neck at one point and her bell is a tad rusty, but I love this little figurine of what the Chinese call a lucky cat.
She has moved with me at least six times.

The blue is a ceramic basket for the kitty to be displayed in. You can see the kittie's eyes if you look close.
Below: My star jasmine is just starting on it's second bloom this year, it bloom sporadic throughout the year.
The white stars are blooing in time for this years Fourth of July.

In another part of my garden,
white impatiens and red geraniums are enjoying the shade.

One last trio of red, white and blue for you.
Starting with a red hibiscus bloom.
Gorgeous tropical hibiscus.

My jasmine bush (different variety) is covered in breathtakingly beautiful blooms.
The buds look like minitiature roses.
The jasmine scent is just heavenly - any breeze will carry the scent all over the garden.

........and since I am running out of blue flowers to show you
how about
the gorgeous blue eyes of our garden kitty, Miss Mini Kitty Fluffball?

I hope you have enjoyed my red, white and blue garden edition.
Thanks for visiting my garden - have a great Fourth of July!!!

Sue thanks - I'm glad the idea of a red, white and blue garden article went over well. Just another angle on things can be refreshing.
Miss Kitty takes a bow too - we like your nice comments!
I thank you for sharing your beautiful space. My attempts whimper and wail, (gnashing of floral teeth~~you get the idea.)
I am in love with the star jasmine. That is one of my favorite scents.
I'm working on some lavendar now, hoping it will bloom, with my plebian carrots, tomatos, cilantro and peppers.
Bless you. I am so impressed by the beauty at your doorstep.
