He has always said he will make final determinations, based on the info. he gets from those who've been on the ground, but that his aim is to end this debacle. Gotta have flexability. That should go, without saying, but some people seem to want to remain in an all or nothing, frame of mind.
Jade Obama chastised Clinton for taking the position he now takes. yes I watched the debates. He proudly beat his chest saying that he was the one promising to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq.
There is nothing new here. Obama has always said that he would give the generals a new mission of exiting Iraq but will look at the realities on the ground. That will allow to accelerate the troop withdrawal and decelerate depending of what's going on the ground.
To withdraw or stay without looking at the realities would be plain dumb. He is not saying anything new if you watched all those debates.
Now the hard line lefities will not be happy. Follow then and you will be a john kerry, Dukakis, and co.

Since no explanation about the rhetorical context that his statement was made would be acceptable to you, I'll just answer it this way: That's how we roll and we really don't care what you think about it -- you better HOPE your guy wins in November because that's all you've got.... and if you lose it's back to 4 more years of misery and dispair for you and people who think like you. For the rest of us, we will do what we do and enjoy our Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness (cuz I'll be damned if I need Obama to do that for me).
