Three cinquains and photos to celebrate my very first journey to Maine. The sea is an elemental influence on the architecture, food and fine natives of this northern New England state.

WIDOW'S PEAK Young bride
Paces the small space
Known as a widow's peak
Seeking truth from sea silent as a
Mistress.

SANCTUARY

Church door weathered
By ocean salt spray and
Wind that carries the lobstermen
Back home.

Lobsta from the Harba

Tails and red claws
Cracked and dipped in butter
Served with beach-baked clams, corn and
Chowda.

Wonderful cinquains about Maine...loved the lobster one.
Maine is a wonderful place to visit. Love to stroll the streets and view the older homes.
