4th of July Weekend

Tomorrow kicks off my 4th of July weekend.  I usually have to work holidays, and I fought to get to have this one off this year.  For some reason I'm oddly looking forward to Tom Sawyer Days.

Tom Sawyer Days officially kicked off today, but I'm not going downtown to see any of it until Friday.  I'll be too tired tomorrow to really enjoy it anyway, having just worked overnight and all.  And the 4th is when they're having the fence whitewashing contests, crown the new Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher, and the frog jumping contests, and much more anyway.

What are your plans for the 4th?

I don't know it is the beginning of the month and we don't get our food stamps till the 7th of July. I don't have much food left in the house. This happens every holiday in the summer. It is like the gov doesn't want the poor to ever have a good time. In good time I am only meaning some hot dogs and burgers for me and the kids and gran. Oh well, sorry to be whiny.

We'll go to Freehold to see MIL. We'll drive home after the fireworks and hopefully catch the local fireworks. That is it. We don't have any special stuff going on around here.

i will be working my normal shift and getting paid double time...which is a blessing since i had today off when i would normally be working it....after work i may try to see archie before he goes to meeting....next i will be taking my nightly bath...after that i will be eating supper....finally i will be watching WWE SMACKDOWN from 7 pm to 9 pm cst....then i will be going to bed so i can get up early and work a 10 hr shift on saturday

I've never heard of "Tom Sawyer Days" ~ sounds interesting! Have no plans at this point for Independence Day...but I'm guessing we might just keep cool and go see a movie!

We're having family up for the weekend. The weather is predicted to be warm and sunny. We'll watch the parade from our boat and the fireworks from our deck.

I work weekends (F-Su) so my celebration will be of the quiet personal kind. I bless every day I live for being born here, despite all of our imperfections-this nation is still the best. She is also where all her distractors are free to be as gross and vocal as they want with no repercussions.

I have a wedding to attend on the morning of the 4th. I have never heard of that but the bride to be loves this holiday!!

Two of my kids are out of town, my oldest boys working and there are going to be a bunch of pre-teens at my cousins - love them, but don't want to be around them for more than an hour. They wear me out.

Home, sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks.

I also could go and picnic with the Buddhists or ride in the 4th of July parade here, which is really cute, but I don't want to.

Yep, I'm feeling crabby like that.
