June Photos in bloom contest winners and july contest

This time we had a lot of flower shots submitted great job everyone.  A lot of great shots that were submitted to the group were not submitted to the contest. I seen some winners that would have placed in the top 10.  I did noticed a lot of lighting problems that caused some photos not to place.  The best time of the day to shot flowers is early mornings or over cast days. In mid day the bright light washes out the color of the flowers and to late in the evening hides them in to many shadows.

This was the hardest contest Ive had to judge so far.  We had 106 very good entries this time so lets get clicking for July  Id love to see at least 200 entries.   Remember cropping is your Friend with small flowers dont let them get lost in the back ground.  If you have a photo and wonder why it didnt place put a link to it here and i will be glad let you know what I think would have made it better. put you want a public response or private and i will either answer here or email you which ever you want.

Rules for July  There are two contests running at the same time this time.

single bloom~main focus is the single flower or grouping of cluster flowers

gardens~full gardens

you must put the location of the image was taken.  my garden, friends garden etc  or or the name of the sight seeing spot this is only for the garden shots

image can not be entered into another contest at the same time as this one.  I keep saying this but some just dont get it and still put it into another contest.  when that happens i will not consider the image.  Image must be taken  July 1 -July-31 and posted by midnight July 31est
