Lawsuit concerning Atlanta airport and guns

I just read that some guns rights supporters have sued Hartsfield Jackson airport for the right to bring guns into the airport. It seems that Georgia has a new law that allows citizens with permits to carry concealed weapons on MARTA, to state parks, and to restaurants, but the airport says it is a "no-gun zone."

I find this lawsuit and this law terrifying. Why does anyone need to carry a gun on MARTA? Public transportation is scary enough as it is. (MARTA is the bus and train system in metro Atlanta.) And why would anyone need to bring a gun to the airport, knowing they can't take it on the plane?

Can someone tell me a non-scary reason for this???

One thing to also note... MARTA goes directly to the airport.

I cannot honestly give you a non-scary reason for people carrying guns on MARTA.

It's our idiot governor, King Sonny. The same man that is destroying education in this state. MARTA is as safe as you make it.

I knew, that the Supreme Court's decision was going to open up the flood gates. Now every gun nut is going to sue for his or right to strap.

I thihnk the Supreme Court's latest decision concerning guns is going to open up a gigantic can of worms. But, that's just my own opinion.

This will be worth watching. Though we have the constitution right to our guns, there are some places where they JUST DON'T BELONG. Airports is one of them.

My thought is if someone doesn't know who does and doesn't have a gun, then perhaps the person will think twice before robbing some one. Almost all legal gun owners are law abiding citizens and not out for trouble.

I know there are places that Marta goes that I'd be scared to go. I see nothing wrong with a law abiding citizen carrying a concealed weapon on Marta....and i bet there are people that already do (illegally) and people just don't realize it.

And Kerrell the education in Georgia was completely screwed up before Sonny took office...we've at least moved up a few slots and aren't last in the country.
