Trans fats are finally getting the recognition they deserve--as the unhealthiest fat you can eat! Researchers and experts warn that trans fats are so bad for you that no upper limit guideline has even been established. Basically, you should avoid them at all costs. It's easy to read labels, which are now required (in the U.S.) to list trans fat content on their nutrition facts labels, but anytime you dine out, you could be eating trans fats without knowing it. One of these Starbucks treats is significantly higher than the other in trans fats, total fat, and caloric content. Can you pick the treat with zero trans fat?
Bavarian Cream Danish sounds like a rich treat, and it is. However, this treat won't clog your arteries as badly as its competitor. The Danish contains 360 calories, 27 grams of fat, and zero trans fats. Even though something like this should be an occasional indulgence, you can rest assured knowing that it is one of the better choices at this location, which it comes to your health (and waistline). The Apple Cinnamon Roll is one of the most calorie-dense treats offered--790 calories, 37 grams of fat, and a whopping 11 grams of trans fats! Other smart choices on this menu included the croissants, bagels, and breads (none included trans fats and all were less than 320 calories). Starbucks nutritional info (for baked goods) can vary from location to location since many buy treats from local bakeries. The nutrition information for your local Starbucks is available on their website.

As far as the treats go - I don't eat sweet things much at all, and never in the morning.
