We're not kidding here.  These sick GOP defenders of torture speak volumes in their inability to answer even ONE question.  They were asked, for example, does the President have the authority to have a detainee's child brutally tortured in front of him? 

*crickets*

Is it ok . . . umm . . . to bury the kid alive?  One of these "Conservative", GOP, filthy slimeballs actually got closest to answering when he began to hem and haw about it somehow depending on the "Why" the order is given.  In the end . . . though they were loathe to say it . . . and didn't . . . they made ONE thing quite clear!  The President could order someone buried alive . . . or a child dismembered in front of a detainee (a sick misnomer of a term in and of itself)  . . . or anything . . . you know . . . for the right reason.

This whole pathetic, sick party has to go . . . and pro-torture McSame can go too.  You can see a short link of these clowns below!

Not supporting the torture of our enemies--or their wives, children, pets, etc.--is so elitist of you. And you don't support our troops either because we need torture in order to get vital information on weapons of mass destruction that turn out not to exist.

I heard excerpts of this testimony on NPR. Even when these criminals show up (which is seldom) for testimony, they refuse to say anything except they "don't recall" in 100 different ways.

The Congress needs to develop a spine and just start throwing these slimeballs in jail for not appearing or not responding to questions truthfully.

I tried to watch the House Judiciary Subcommittee meeting. It was infuriating and before long I decided that John Yoo creep must be trying to torture us with his non-answers. I know those were typical, guilty Republican responses, but somehow he took it to a new level. And, in case anyone asks, I have no knowledge of typing this comment.

Flit . . . that's it absolutely. Talk of removing digits (read fingers) from the hands of detainee's infants is just sick and disgusting. The answer should have been a categorical no . . . or it should become one again.

THAT was the feeling I got too. Just to see them, my mind pictures some vile, putrid excuse for a human being . . . but . . . in the rare instances they actually do open their mouths it just gets sicker! Yet he turned this into an art form of evasion. Pompous crap-weasle.

One question that could have been asked is "If you think that no American president ever would order such a thing, then why can't you say he could not order such a thing legally?"

Of course, it would have led to another evasion.

Nobody ever asked if an American President would or should order such a thing. I think we all know that the "I think no American President ever would..." line isn't worth the warm air wasted to speak the words. Recent history has made just such a scenario much more plausible than the constraints Bush is likely to place on his own powers and activities which would be a prerequisite to their comment which . . . was a response to a question which was never asked in order to avoid any answer being given to the question which was asked.

Wow. I understood my own comment. Getting into it with a room full of attorneys being intentionally evasive makes for some confusing comments, eh?

Jesus! I watched that thing and just wanted to grab John Yoo and nail him to the wall so at least somebody could get a grip on him! Trying to hook a worm for fishing is child's play compared to getting Yoo to answer the question. Maybe somebody should sit next to him with a Webster's and explain to him the difference between "could", "would", and "should".

It's like Nixon believed that it couldn't be illegal if he did it because he was the president. Nixon's resignation was a terrible blow to neocons and Dick Cheney thought Nixon should have been able to spy on anyone. The lack of checks and balances has created a power vacuum allowing W. to usurp more and more with the help of a spineless congress and unsupreme court.

One of the most telling features of the failed administration of the AWOL in Chief is the utter lack of talent and brains that they were able to attract.

Recent graduates of Regent University (like the totally-unqualified under official in the DOJ), failed political hacks (like the Director of FEMA), crooked conservative deal-makers (like the recently departed head of HHS) and bottom-dwelling Emperor-worshippers like John Yoo.

I am disappointed in myself for letting my disgust for some of the names we haven't heard in a while escape me: Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Cheney, Halliburton . . . Bush is a snake, but I don't want to see the rest of them forgotten. Sad there are too many to keep up with.

Add to that, like these guys did . . . that limits to our freedom may be there but speed being limited can be avoided based on the overriding prioritization for the need for that limit. Now would that priority arise? I think we can safely say that I, personally, see no way that other drivers would of necessity find themselves in a position where the overriding of a conjectured limit to speed might be in question.
