My local Garden Club held it's annual garden walk last week. There were six gardens featured. All were different and beautiful in their own right. There was one in particular that really grabbed me. I'd like to show you why. It wasn't so much the plants as the set up and ambiance of the gardens and features of the yard.
Here is what we were greeted with when approaching the house. What a quaint setting on the front porch.

The entrance to the gardens in the back yard.

I have this photo posted separately on Gather. What an inviting retreat!

Notice the roof in the background. It is a little summer house. I did not get any photos of it. I was so blown away by the inside, I forgot. You'll see what I mean shortly.

A picnic waiting to happen.

Now is the inside of the summer house. Her husband built it for her. Everything inside is pink and cream or white. She especially likes McCoy pottery. I just couldn't get over how beautifully this was decorated.

My granddaughter was invited to sit down and put on a tiara while I took her picture. Do you think she was tickled? Pink is her favorite color too.

One last shot before we leave.

Wasn't this yard and summer house decorated so cute? I certainly enjoyed the visit. I hope you did too.

BTW, I've been meaning to ask you what camera you use, lenses, etc. You do such an excellent job!
This kind of pizazz is what I lack in my gardens. I know a lot about plants and arranging them but I"m no decorator. Sometimes just a few plants and shrubs will do if you know how to pull it all together with accessories. Yeah, that's it - accessories for the garden! But you have to know how to do it so your yard doesn't come off looking like a vintage putt-putt golf course. He-he!
Meanwhile, do you enjoy being part of a gardening club? What all is entailed?
I love being in a Garden Club. We have about 120 members in my club. I met my best friends in the club. We meet once a month and have a general meeting in the evening with a speaker - usually on gardening topics. We do civic services like maintain flowerbeds downtown. We have fundraisers like plant and bake sales and The Garden Walk to raise money for local scholarships. We give thousands away each year. Within the club are several offshoot groups. There is a tea group that meets once a month for a potluck lunch, an herb group, an environmental group, and an arts and crafts group.
We are a very busy bunch!
Not a bad place to be stuck at though.
Come back soon - I'll have more yards from the Garden Walk.
the arrangement, the setting, the colors and ambiance is after my own soul.
Thank you so much for sharing this with so many.
Now that I found this beauty I will come often to your page in the hope that I will find more and more........................
love and light from Greece
Marinela - nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by. Oh! I have LOTS of flower and garden photos. He-he!
the silver lining of my probs with landlord is that it got me into finally doing something beyond yard clean up....i now have a large pot of cool hue flowers with a touch of pale pink included with the blues n' purples and another large pot of lavendula Provence lavender plants....the insane thing is that i don't like the scent of lavendar inside like in sachets, etc., but outside i enjoy the wafts of subdued scent...LOL...

You are welcome Jules! It was open to anyone who paid. I'm giving you all a free tour. LOL! :-)
And thank you!
Your granddaughter is adorable.
The garden - oh my word, such eye candy and enjoyable vignettes everwhere. The summer house - wow. I'm not into pink and white and lace as far as decor - but I certainly do appreciate all of it and once in a while I do a little mini vignette like that.
I think any girl-woman has a spot in her heart for this - add the rose tea service for even more romance - lovely.
I can't wait to see the other gardens on your tour!
