Robert and I got bored today and couldn't resist going out to find a couple of fairly easy geocaches.
It was pretty hot today but when we got to where we were headed we ended up with a little cloud cover and a nice breeze to cool us off a bit. We actually got about two or three minutes of a pretty good rain. Each afternoon the clouds are building higher and higher into the sky. Monsoon season is on its way.
The first cache we came to we never did find and we'll try again another time but the area was just gorgeous. We hiked up a trail to some rock cliffs and down below flowed the East Verde River.
We have seen the East Verde River from many places and I've mentioned it several times in our adventures but this spot is amazing. There are walking trails all over the place and many lead to the rock ledges overlooking the river. It's so beautiful here. Someday I will have to come back during the week when there aren't so many people around and I might even take a swim.

The only thing that took away from the mood were the few crosses we found, placed for people who have died on these rocks. It was definitely a reminder to be safe and pay attention.

Tucked into some really huge rocks was this awesome waterfall. I might have to investigate that a little closer when we come back next time.
Our second cache was in an area that didn't offer any picture taking opportunities. We did find this one and traded an item. There were geodes all over the ground here but they were pretty small and we've found that the really small ones don't have much crystallization in them.
For a short trip we sure saw a lot and had a good time.

Have fun swimming later.... ;-)
Take care.
Thanks so much for posting this to
my group
I need to get back into the habit of geocaching; I haven't done any in a few months!
John: I think it probably does have something to do with the concrete and all the structures. I do hope we get a lot of rain this year.
Nancy: It's definitely not as much fun without someone else to go with. Maybe you'll find someone that is interested.
Melinda: It is cool but I sure wish we knew where to go to find the larger ones. I think the residents nearby have already got the good ones. We saw a whole bunch in their yards. Bummer.
