I have never tried to make the U.S. as perfect or a paradise, but I do believe that we are the greatest nation on this Earth. We have our many faults and we tend to bicker and argue among ourselves quite a lot. But that doesn't change my feelings of how lucky we all are to live in this land of freedom called America.
Despite all of our inner turmoil and bickering among ourselves, despite all of our failings and imperfections, we are still the light of freedom.
The worshipers of hate and intolerance have thrown everything they have against us and yet we still stand strong and proud. Those that seek to curtail freedom and human dignity in their own country men will never understand, that it is our diversity and the ability overcome our differences, if only in spirit, that makes us the envy of the rest of the world. It is our ability to come together, when push comes to shove and when it becomes clear that it is us against the world.
We may be a young nation, but we stand tall and true, when set against the history of man. Time after time we have stood on the side of the righteous and never backed down in the fight against evil or wrong.
Reaching out to everyone, we a nation of many facets and hues, have never painted ourselves as perfect or as the only way. Yet in the end, friend or foe can attest to the fact that we are still the Light of Freedom.
Happy Birthday America

Patriotism is just thinking that your country is best because you were born in it.
To all of our French members I was just kidding.
The riots in France wouldn't have effected me, if I was there. But they are very racist in France against the Algerians and that is a problem that won't go away for them. All nations have their problems. We all have our "chickens that have come home to roost".
Decater said it best, "My country in her relations with other countries (And with individuals) may she always be right, but my country right or wrong."
Decater by the way was the guy who first beat up those Barbury pirates today. Today instead of pirates we call them Muslem fanatics.
Happy Independence Day to you too!

As for the "American Indians" cind g..... as a granddaughter of one I can say we have come far with the nation. The few who decide to stay tied to the past and not move forward are generally the ones that are quite unhappy and feel abused. It's over. Move on. We are all ONE nation now and need to act as so. I know a good many Native Americans who have continued to live within their nation tribe and become upstanding and even wealthy citizens. I have a friend who is an artist that loves his life and works every day to better it. You're feeling sorry for the handful that remain tied to their hatred and reap the benefits of a cash cow to do nothing more than become alcoholics and live in poverty. If anyone's a puppet it's you being played on by those Native Americans who want your sympathy. They're not better than the rest of the world who sits on their arse and begs for more. The ones that have come along and made a life of themselves seem quite happy. Ask me, I'm not only a part of it but quite privy to it first hand.
