"Senator Obama is part of this new and emerging group of Christians I have called the "religious left." The "religious left" is made up of people who identify themselves as Christians and hold strong religious beliefs as well as sharing left-wing ideals". Bill Keller
The news media has crowned Pastor Bill Keller the next big thing in mass media religion. Keller is the host of Live Prayer with Bill Keller
, the nation's only live call-in faith and values-based program airing exclusively on the Internet. He was also the first Christian leader to go into the national media and make the case that based on his own words and actions; "Senator Barack Obama is not a Christian".
"It is clear that Senator Obama is convinced he can use the news media to continue declaring he is a Christian without being held accountable for his non-Christian beliefs and actions, and that Christianity has been so watered down and Biblical Truth so compromised that he can ignore those followers of Jesus Christ who still believe the Bible represents Absolute Truth. Instead he has aggressively courted those who call themselves Christians but hold liberal beliefs in opposition to God's Word as he does. Just because you call yourself a giraffe doesn't make you a giraffe!" Bill Keller
According to a recently published Christian NewsWire
article, Keller acknowledges that Dr. James Dobson recently spoke out against Obama's bad theology and distortion of scripture; however, he also criticizes Dobson for attempting to defend his name rather than defend the Christian faith. Keller also said:
"I understand that he is a psychologist and not a theologian, but Dobson only spoke out against Senator Obama's flawed theology after he learned of the attack on his name. Where was he months ago when people like myself were taking the heat in the national media for declaring that Senator Obama's beliefs and actions are clearly not those of a Christian? Even though he has once again failed to lead, it is nice to finally have his voice speaking out against Senator Obama's confused and tortured theology." Bill Keller
We believe it is important to point out that this not merely a political issue but a spiritual one. It is no secret that Obama has been very outspoken about his faith. When any leader arises that has the potential to wield great influence and makes a claim to faith, we believe that it is essential that true Christians examine those claims in light of scripture and the fruit
of their lives and actions. This is because there exists a great potential for an influential leader who makes the claim to be a follower of Christ and isn't, to propagate false doctrine and bring deception into the Body of Christ.
Remember the Bush presidential campaigns? His faith was also placed under great scrutiny and rightly so. In our opinion, whether or not a candidate is a Christian is not necessarily a deal breaker when it comes to presidential elections. However when a candidate makes that claim and their actions and theology assault Biblical Christianity, it is important to expose and address the issue.

I don't know much about the Black theology he practiced for twenty years with Reverend Wright, but if that is part of it, I can do without it and him.
I think Obama is a "christian" as long as it is politically expedient for him to be one. I see nothing that indicates it in his politics.
Is Obama's interpretation any less valid than Rev.Hagee's or Rev. Parsley's? Or for that matter President's Bush's?
Bestowed by God himself?
Maybe it was the ratings on his internet call in show. As we all know, that's where real authority comes from...
