Security for Iraq?

Well it should come as NO shock to anyone paying attention that George "I want Iran next" Bush had a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. 

 

He's worried that he might be OUT of office before achieving his goal to re-map the middle east into a string of US territories.  Apparently, they discussed what Bush calls "a strategic framework agreement that suits the Iraqi government." LMAO!!!  You DO know he's much more concerned with Iraqi freedom than his drive for middle-east, oil producing hegemony, right?  He also wants to be free to use the permanent bases to stage attacks on Iran.  The push for a deal on a US-Iraq security pact has been (shocker, right?) stepped up after Washington submitted new, as yet unspecified proposals. The proposed pact would allow permanent US bases in Iraq (you know . . . for THEIR own good) as well as immunity from prosecution for US citizens (so they can freely continue to kill innocent Iraqis).  Many Iraqis say this would violate the nation's sovereignty (those maggots still think this is THEIR country) and fear this would leave Iraq under US domination for years (Duhh . . . some Iraqis have educations)?

On the PLUS side . . . it looks like he's thinking about leaving office.

OK! Bush took out the only secular government in the Middle East? The only one that revered western values? Is that a problem? His handpicked representative is quitting because he's really really likely to get assassinated. I can't understand that at all!

Ok. I forgot about Turkey--which was also a secular though Islamic, state which now has to deal with the Kurdish threat thanks to Bush's invasion of Iraq and so, is embracing radical Islamic fundamentalism, pushing radical Islam with Turkish nationalism once again.

Now now Sandy - that's different. Bush is already President (well kinda - sort of like when the pilots on a jet airliner give a little kid those wings? They smile, muss his hair and call him Little Captain but they won't let him actually fly the plane). Obama wanting to actually talk to world leaders is just plain dangerous. Now once he's in the White House, it'll be a good idea.

I would not be surprised if we get into a war with Iran, the people who not that long ago tood 52 Americans hostage and who hate us as much as we can be hated. They are a threat as much as the Al Quida. Do we want to get hit again - This time with something more destructive than big airplanes flying into buildings?

I want change too, but I realize that I live in dangerous times. I pray for peace and I talk softly, but I believe in not only carrying the big stick, but in keeping the other guy in line with it.

interesting stuff Doyle. How do you get the iraqi leadership to give George what he wants when their own supporters do not want it to happen? Well, outright bribery would probably get temporary results. Other than that, hard to make it fly.
