It's definitely hot and humid around here. My garden loved the rain we had the last couple of days. Unfortunately, so do the grass and the weeds.
It's all lush and green and thriving - so let's take a little garden walk.
The pink Chicago Peace rose has already finished blooming for the summer.
Let's start our garden tour with my new coneflower.
It is really going to town, with buds all over.
The buds start out puny and white with lavender pink and then slowly day by day turns more pink.

Over in the herb garden a new sunflower which self seeded itself from last year has opened up. It popped up in the middle of the pink vinca flowers.
A pretty sight.

On the other side of the herb garden my blue flowers are getting fat and happy and spreading out.
Don't they look beautiful framed by the pink vincas?

Over by the fence my jasmine bush is still covered with fragrant flowers.
A delight for the eye and a joy for the senses.
I don't know why, but the blooms remind me of the south.

Just a few steps away, the daisies look happy next to the celtic bird bath.

One of my azalea bushes decided to bloom a second time.
Instead of white flowers, it is now blushing a becoming pink.

To finish up our garden tour in the backyard, let me show you my tropical iris.
I have no idea which variety it is, but it blooms on long stems and today I can share the first bloom of the season with you.
In another week, there will be a whole cluster of flowers which last for several weeks. It is an easy care plant which I left in a pot. This is only it's second or third year and I have already had to split the bulbs apart.
I love it's exotic looking flowers.

Our last stop is the frangipani or plumeria - lei flower.
This one has a juicy fruit gum scent.
Tropics pure.

Come on back inside out of the summer heat and let's share something icy and sparkly.
I hope you have enjoyed today's garden tour - it was my pleasure.

Thank you everyone of my gather friends - I do enjoy sharing my garden with you.
I love touring your garden and seeing all the things I can't gow up here.
Mmmmm...... the jasmine and plumeria must be heavenly to smell. I'll bet they waft on the breeze.
Your tropical iris look a lot like a blackberry lily.
I look forward to more of your lovely garden tours!
PS - I'm here for you!

Thanks y'all - the celtic bird bath came from Lowe's and was surprisingly low priced. it had an almost neon green hue, but it is concrete and I could tell the color would wear off soon enough.
It has it is now a faded greenish grey - very pleasant to look at.
