I posted the following on my website, www.gretchenleebourquin.com. Since I recently self-published with Lulu, and will want reviews. I wanted to find a way to return the favor. Gather Authors will likely have an edge in the selection process.
I really enjoy helping out the "little guy" when it comes to their publication adventures. So I am offering my services as a book reviewer. I'm looking for books by Self-Published Authors or those whose book is published by a Small Press. My tastes lean toward fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Politically, I lean leftwards -- so there are my biases. I'd love to be able to get to everything, but alas, I am only human. So if you are interested please follow directions.
1. Send me an email gretchen at gretchenleebourquin dot com (sorry no link-- warding off the spam boogie man) Include a short excerpt of your book (less than 250 words), and a brief bio/summary. If there is a "preveiw" out in cyberspace of your book, send a link. This is your query
2. If I think your book is a good candidate for review-- based on my interests and time available. I will contact you to negotiate terms. I won't ask you to "pay" me, but I may request a free copy of your book. PDF files will be strongly encouraged -- they are cheaper for everyone to pass back and forth. I'm aiming to review one or two books a month. I might increase that if I get really popular.
Reviews will be posted on Gather and my Website.
