A good reason NOT to drink and drive ..

I first saw this story right after it happened and I could not help but cry.

It broke my heart to hear how someone had taken the lives or so many people. A mother and her children. With the youngest victim being only two months old. To find out the mans poor choice to drink and drive caused such a devastation to so many lives. I remember sitting there thinking I am NEVER EVER going to drink and drive. Then my next thought was I really hope this man gets the punishment he deserves. Then if you can imagine the embarrassment for the State of Michigan it was for us to find out the jerk who did this was from Michigan. I just ran across the follow up article showing he was sentenced.

How sad. He has destroyed a whole family. Just because he chose to drink and drive. I bet after the alcohol wore off he felt pretty low. So to everyone out there .... if you drink ... don't drive. If you have a friend who is drinking and has had to much .. take the keys .. and give them a ride. Just remember this poor families traggic and totally preventable loss next time you drink! Then think about it .. is the 'buzz' worth it?

Once my neighbor a young mother and her young son were killed by an impaired driver leaving her husband ( not in the car) and daughter ( forever scared on her pretty little face) alone

That is terrible! I was hit by a drunk driver when I was 16. He wasn't wearing his seat belt and he went through the windshield. They put us both in the same ambulance and I remember him wailing and I looked at him and he didn't have a nose. I will never forget that night and it has kept me from driving even after just having a beer.

This is an important article!!! I have never and will never drink and drive. Friends who drink with us stay in our guest room downstairs! We are very careful! We will show our kids stories and articles like these when it is time to talk with them about it!

My sister was killed in 1958 by a drunk driver, she was only 18. My brother was murdered (for that's what it is) by a drunk driver in 2004, he was 50 and I have been hit on two seperate occasions by drunk drivers, one really serious and one not so much. I HATE PEOPLE WHO DRIVE DRUNK!!!

How very sad. We see it over and over in the news and on t.v., DUI citizens arrested again? a slap on the hand? i don't give a rat's butt who they are supporting...they need to be off the road and or, in prison. Once you take that first drink, you are not incapacitated but you sure as heck know what it leads to if you continue to do it, there cannot be enough said or advertisement concerning 'friends don't let friends drive drunk.' Maybe the thing to do is a whole new ballgame, maybe there should be a mandatory sentence that all convicted of killing or maming innocent people, let them continue to drive...but this mandatory sentence I am talking about is this...they know have to pay restitution, like a child support payment, heck, make them pay something...putting them in prison is not a deterent...if they have land...take it away and give it to the victim's families, children....or am I being too harsh for these maggots? And yes, I have lost someone to drunk driving. Off with their heads!
