Do you change your decor for the summer months? I find that I like a lighter look in the summertime.

When I reupholstered my sectional and chair 3 years ago I bought a little extra fabric and made various pillow covers to match some of my throws. This allows me to change the look of my room which is mostly in nuetrals, as the seasons change.
I recently had a deep purple throw and solid green pillow covers with a woven texture for the spring look. I can't change the sage green and tan striped chair but I can use a different throw on it or no throw at all. Who needs one in the summer? I can also change the cushion that I like for my back.

Another way that I change the look of the room is the tablescape on my coffee table. I like to have some kind of a topper and have found that the small woven rugs make great covers. They are washable and provide protection to the wood from beverage containers and coffee cups. I just found this one at Target for 2.78 and it matches my summer decor perfectly.

I added a basket of sea shells and a wooden tissue holder that I found at Goodwill for only 88 cents and with a current magazine the tablescape is complete.
When I was in spring mode I had a woven rug of white, green and amethyst on the table and a bouguet of purple violets.
Curtains are another big change that I make when summer comes. In the cooler months I like the lined panels that are a bit darker color. Mine were a real steal at 18.00 for the two. I liked them because they brought out the rich copper of some of my accessories.

For summer I like my natural linen color tab tops. I use the same white sheers with both for privacy.

I am not one of those that thinks only real flowers and plants can be used. It would be nice but who can afford the real floral bouquets all the time. I like to use silk plants, ivy, vines etc and currently have a very nice tall white orchid on my entertainment center that I got for 7.50 when Kirklands went out of business. Quite a reduction from 29.00. Flat sheets can also be used for curtain panels. The wide hem will thread nicely onto a curtain rod. You can find these in your linen closet or on sale in many home store linen departments.
Look around your house. Do you want a new look in a particular room? It might be as simple as moving things from one room to another. Use interesting things you might have collected in baskets you also probably have around your house. The trick is don't overdo. Keep like objects grouped.
Enjoy your new look.

My mom has a lot of paintings that she switches, depending on the seasons.
I figured out a great frugal tip last year and it goes along with your idea of changing with the seasons. I am always coming across really eye catching table runners at great prices. I always loved them and wanted them, but I have a round table, they won't work!
One day, it hit me, why do they have to be just table runners? They can be tapestries! On either side of my be I put up really pretty decorative curtain rods. (At that small size, about 14 inches, it doesn't cost much to get a really nice one) Then I sewed a 2 inch piece of fabric on the back of the runners on one end. Voila! I had decorative tapestries that I can change whenever I want.
It also has the added bonus of adding great texture and there is no way that I could find a piece of art that big at that price!
I wrote an article last year about redoing the whole living room and not counting the new carpet I did all the redocorating for about 250.00.

BTW I cannot believe you have a Troll.
I gave this ten stars.
Summer in Greece is very hot and the only thing I do ( we all do ) is to take off the carpets.
I just did it yesterday as I was away for some time enjoying the beach and the sea
colors for the summer, You can do a lot for very little, just need a good imagination and i can see you have one.
Thanks too for commenting on my Belly Fat Article at
Belly Fat & MUFA
I commented on your comment.
It's working. I've eliminated cravings--since I started doing this about a week ago I already have looser clothes, not a whole lot but enough to know the difference. i.e. I can zip up the jeans without lying down.
Also, my 11 year old granddaughter asked me last week if I was losing weight. She said I looked thinner.
