I have read every single one of Chuck Palahniuk's books, with my favorite being Invisible Monsters. His last novel, Rant, was so twisted and incredible that I have recommended it to many people. However, there is no way I'd recommend his most recent book, Snuff, to anyone! This book is very short, more like a novella, and it all takes place on a porn movie set where 600 guys are waiting to take their turn at setting a new world record.
Compared to all his other stuff, this story just doesn't have anything to it. The characters are all boring and empty, and the story isn't even that interesting. It has a couple of small surprises, but they happen too quickly so there is very little build-up. I wonder if Palahniuk was just trying to see how dirty of a book he could push into the mainstream.
Even if you liked all of his previous work, like I did, you would be wasting your money on this one. I bought the audiobook off iTunes for $12.95, and promptly deleted it as soon as I finished listening.

I might still buy it, just because I want to own all of his books, but if I'm not going to read it then it can most definitly wait until I can get it for a penny on amazon.
Thanks for the heads up about it!
