Shaw's quote about "wrestling with pigs" is awfully similar to the oft-repeated internet quote about how arguing with someone on the 'Net is equivalent to two Special Olympians in a track-and-meet race. . .Shaw's quote is more classier, less offensive, less controversial.

Brilliant! I love Shaw. Sometimes he could be out-done by a witty come-back, but exceedingly rarely. A favorite anecdote my late Dad told me was about the time Shaw rushed into a pub where Oscar Wilde was holding court. Shaw said (I paraphrase), "I'm starting a new literary magazine for all the best work. I'm going to call it 'Shaw', just 'Shaw, Shaw, Shaw'." To which Wilde replied, "Yes, of course, but how will you spell it?"
