This is a love poem for Vincent Van Gogh... I wish to submit anew for the month of love!
For Vincent, Theo, Dave Graywolf Flynn and my friend Boris G.

The Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum, Arles, at Night, 1888
One starry night in Arles
the streets danced with fire
the jewelled walls aflame
with the living uraei of Ra
the luminous eye saw
the gentle hand painted
the beautiful heart knew
a radiant life divine
of subatomic dreams
each atom a doorway
into infinite beauty
infinite mystery
while above him
the stars and
galaxies whirled
spiraling worlds
without end

Most kind!
Isis A.
Love and Beauty to you,
Isis
Vincent Van Gogh is so much more than the popular idea of a mad man. Tormented but not mad. Beautiful. Tragic.
Kathryn thought of this prompt two weeks ago and it lingered in my mind. I think this is my favorite painting in the universe. I loved Monet above all for years but that is no longer the case. And just yesterday a Monet sold for 80 million dollars.
Vincent sold one painting in his life time and it was sold for 64 dollars.
Incredible.
Love and beauty,
Isis
I sent the link to my family...and it is still playing...so very beautiful. Thank you...
one in touch with the beautiful Vincent.
Such love and beauty, such an angel.
Thanks for inspiring so much with your images, writing and ideas.
Love and beauty to you,
Isis
Van Gogh's inspiration and carried all to Ra and the stars...the effect
is scintillating.....as are Van Gogh's paintings. The infinite atom
whirls so beautifully in your hands .....lights up minds & spirits,
hearts and qualia delighted with the songs you offer them to
write and sing with such precise passions that all can join in
and tune their own harmony. Thank you Isis!
I see with sublime pleasure that you love the artist that can show the world to me as I would love to experience it in my mind.
You also chose the most lifting soaring painting that I think that he ever made. I can never look at this painting without undergoing deep emotion. It always makes me know again that greatness is achievable because there is infinite greatness tangibly before me.
Of the two versions of your poems, I far prefer the first because it uses words that echo my own thoughts...but there is one point. I feel a jar when I read about his "subatomic dreams." For me the atom would be at the wrong end of the scale. Far too minute. In my mind I more see an exploding fireball...but I do know what you meant.
For your possible interest, I include this link that you could click to see my own tribute to this great man together with a locally made painting...which is also a tribute to him.
What made me post that link here is because you wrote "and the stars and galaxies whirled" and this painting suggests that very graphically.
An Afternoon With Vincent
