I saw this too Juan they are doing damage control as we speak. The sad part is he is probably right. Beyond the conspiracy theories isnt that how Bush got re-elected...spouting the "dont change presidents during war time and repubs tough on terrorist" propaganda.

I don't think anyone is hoping for an attack but the McCain group play on fear instead of hope.

As far as terrorism goes the biggest threat of attack is from within and is already taking place and that is the gang and criminal violence that is taking place in the streets of LA, Chicago, Houston, Baltimore and Philadelphia, Miami etc. There are so many gang related deaths in Philadelphia, people ar now calling it Killadelphia.

America's terrorist threat is already here and it takes place everyday in the strrets of America with gangs who are often better armed than the police striking fear and selling drugs in neighborhoods across the country. I feel that we need to look and address the threat here already before it's too late.

The threat of gang violence leads to kids dropping out of school because of safety.
Gang income is generated by crime often drug sales which leads to more crime.
This is a bigger threat than anything that can come from outside of the USA.

Brian, I agree , we need to get our own house in order, before we continue with the idiocy of policeing the rest of the world.

As long as people "drop the hint" of an attack, they can continue to campaign on the "fear" card. Hopefully, the american people are not so dumb.

Your title is misleading however. He is not hoping for it. He said if it occured that would benefit McCain. Again, a dumb comment but never suggested that he is hoping for it.

A terrorist attack would be good for McCain. Hussein Obama doesn't want to aggressively fight against terrorists. He'd rather protect their rights, and not spend money on the military. McCain isn't scared like Hussein Obama, and he is ready and willing to take the threat head on. Americans are spoiled by the protection provided by Bush, and don't feel the danger associated with terrorists. Another taste of the fear would certainly expose the holes in the ideology which Hussein Obama stands for.
