Arizona's state Senate has voted to extend property tax breaks for renewable energy power plants until 2040. The tax breaks were originally set to expire in 2011, according to an AP report.
The move came at a time when renewable energy advocates are pushing for federal lawmakers to extend tax incentives for renewable energy that are set to expire at the end of the year.
Cape Wind Project Moves Forward:
Advocates of Massachusett's Cape Wind project scored a victory in court this week when a judge dismissed four of five counts filed by opponents.
"The court rejected the opponents' primary argument and agreed that Massachusetts agency review was proper. We look forward to providing the public with the benefits of Cape Wind including cleaner air, more stable energy prices, new jobs and greater energy independence, as soon as possible," commented Cape Wind President Jim Gordon in a statement published on Cape Wind's website.
If completed, Cape Wind would be the nation's first offshore wind farm.
