Grocery Shopping Habits

Since I will be on my way to finally do the grocery shopping, I thought I would pose a question. Do you do a weekly shopping trip and get everything all at one time,  or do you get what you need as you run out and make a few stops a week?

Has the price of gas changed how you shop, both the quantity of what you buy and how frequently you shop?

I am really bad at forgetting things every time I shop, plus the produce here goes bad quickly - so I often shop 2x a week plus. Since the rise of gas prices, I've tried to cut back on trips, but already today I've had to make two trips into town because I forgot something that I had to have before tomorrow!

Being only able to carry about 10 pounds in a grocery bag, I have to go to the supermarket a couple times a week to get things.

I go every couple days so I can get fresh dekki meat and cheese. But have cut back since the gas crunch.

Yes, I have cut back alot. I walk to Price Rite about 1x per week, and go to Stop n Shop 1 or 2 times. Meats are so expensive I don't want any spoilage.

I go every couple of days because I like to have fresh baked goods and do not like to freeze meat. Gas prices just make me more apt to go locally and stock up on non-perishables when they are on slae.

I only go twice a month to the store---that's when my husband gets paid.

I work in town and when I get out I hop over to the supermarket and pick up a few things. This is done a couple of time a week. When I shop for my clients I see what is on sale and it makes it easier to choose where to shop.

I get a lot of what we need all at once, but I still have to fill in with stuff. I don't take the car out unless I just have to.. I don't make a lot of trips to waste gas.

I have three stores I go to: Publix, Winn-Dixie and CVS. I like to get everything done in one trip, but lately I have had to spread it out, as my husband has been working long hours, and he has the car.

My mother goes once or twice a week, goes between Publix, Super WalMart, and Winn0Dixie. I supplement with trips to Walgreens for their sale stuff. I go to the store every 2 weeks, when I go to the bank and get paid. I usually pick up the odds and ends and little stuff that I want.

I usually shop once a week with my friend's in-laws. We meet every Saturday, get coffee and do our shopping together.
I try to get everything in one trip. But I also watch the sale papers and sometimes make a mid-week trip for specials on meat and stuff. But the my grocery store is right on the way home so I'm not burning anymore gas one way or the other.

I try to go every other week for my main shopping. I typically hit CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens on Friday if there are any sales. WalMart is on my way home from work, so if we do need anything emergently, I stop there.

No more shopping 3 different grocery stores every week!! Gas is just too expensive.

I typically go for once big trip a week, though sometimes supplement with an extra trip during the week, usually to somewhere other than Whole Foods (where I go for the main food shopping).

We're bad--we go almost everyday even when we could use what we have. That's what happens when it's too easy to shop I guess. I should move out to the country.

I'm a once-a-month shopper for meats, poultry, canned goods, cleaning supplies. But for fresh produce I stop on my way home from work maybe every 10 days.

I sure am changing my shopping pattern. I use to stop into the store with coupons a couple times a week. Now its going to have to be really good for more than once a week. I may start shopping every other week in the future.

I shop once per week. I make out a grocery list and clip my coupons and attach them to my shopping list. I also bring my coupon organizer with me, in case there's a good deal when I get there and I happen to have a coupon too

I go by my favourite markets in normal commuting so stop then ... a couple times a week as I eat mostly fresh veggies and fruit.

Oh yes. I only shop after church. I do not go out to shop another day. I am restricting the driving to only church or a doctor.
Food is so high, we are hardly eating anything.
It's really hard.

I take my mom grocery shopping on Friday mornings. We get everything we need for the week. I very rarely have to stop during the week. With the price of gas going up up up, I have limited my shopping trips and try to run all my errands at one time.

Anyone else combine their shopping trip with some entertainment? I live in England and I can go to the cinema at the Castle Mall shopping centre in Norwich and do my food shopping for the week straight after. It saves me time and I only use the car for the one trip into the city each week.
