We live in a village in Warwickshire, called Bidford on Avon. It is situated on the river Avon, about 6 miles downstream from Stratford. Bidford is a pretty villiage, which attracts quite a few tourists, many of them on narrow-boats on their way from Evesham to Stratfofd. It is best known for it's bridge, which was built by monks 600 years ago.

The bridge is unusual because all the arches beneath the bridge are different.
The river is busy in the summer, and also the pub garden!

This picture was taken from the bridge, and you can see the church in the background.

St lawrence's church is quite big for a small village.

Here is a photo of the local cricket team, a bit slower than your game of baseball!

Going into the main street there are some lovely old buildings, and also some new ones.

The war memorial; and the building behind it is now a bank.

The OLd Falcon below used to be a coaching inn, Shakespeare is said to have got drunk here, after a drinking competition between he and his friends from Stratford, and the men of Bidford. His 'team' lost, and it is understood that he refered to our village as as 'Drunken Bidford'!

This is one of the old cottages at the top of the highstreet.

There are lots of different styles of houses, and cottages in the villiage, as you can see it is small, but an interesting place to live.
Thank you for taking the tour of my village, I hope you enjoyed it!

Was wondering if the church in the photo was Anglican (Church of England) or Catholic and if you're going to Wimbledon this year.
I visited family in England for a month when I was 13. My grandmother showed me everything she could in those weeks...it was amazing and I will remember it forever.
I have through your eyes and with your words dear lady, thank you.

Thank you for the tour of your home.
Great photographs, SueD.
You can imagine the meeting was quite lively much like our town meetings here in the US when controversial issues are involved. The Arundel citizenry were quite concerned with the environmental and social impact of such a large project. Most were concerned that the Ford Market would be a historical thing of the recent past.
As a country The UK has done so much to preserve its rich architecture, Roman and Royal development. Thanks for the great pictures.
Blessings to you and yours...
Thanks so much!!
