We have been getting lots of rain, and last week. On Wednesday I noticed something big sticking out of the grass near the back corner of the yard. So I went over to check it out and as I got closer realized it was a massive mushroom.
the cap of the mushroom was about 7inches wide and the mushroom was about the same in height.
This is that massive mushroom.

By the next day it was already shriveling up.
But then on Friday we were out playing and discovered all sorts of mushrooms growing in the yard!!
Some of these I know the lighting is bad. It was the middle of the day and the sun was really bright.. I should have gotten something to hold over them to shade them while shooting so that the sun didn't reflect so much off of them, but I wasn't really thinking at the time.

this one was in a hanging basket that hangs from our pergola, there are no flowers in it and I just happened to notice the tiny bright orange mushroom right there at the edge of the basket:
It opened up wider and upward by the next day but a bird must have tried to eat it and not liked it because there was a piece of it gone and but was laying near the mushroom.

I am quite glad I got the pics when I did though because only 2 hrs later when it was a bit cloudy I went back out to try and take a few more pics and the mushrooms were already starting to wilt and shrivel up.
these are the same 2 mushrooms as in a pic above.

haven't seen any more since, but we have been getting lots of rain..

But correct me if I am wrong, I thought that a toadstool is just a poisonous mushroom...
