Do you remember a year ago when I published this photo of my granddaughter eating a tofu hot dog?
Well, she's now 28 months old, two going on twenty, and is a happy little girl.

As a foggy minded grandmother, I regularly Google the toddler years, since I've forgotten what my own kids were like at this age - it was wayyyyy too busy with two little ones and a farm.
She races to the phone, and babbles on in her toddler talk, which no one can understand, including her mother. But she's thrilled to hear your voice, and thrilled to be chatting!
Her fine motor skills are still a little iffy, even though her interest is there! I got her some "colorforms" - stickers that are flexible plastic ( and don't ruin the walls or windows), but it's still difficult for her to manipulate them. She adores going to the coffee shop, which is an odd, dark shop filled with odd people, all of whom shout out greetings to her, which she cheerfully acknowledges. She's still very clingy when her mother's around, but can just as quickly bounce from a chair to race down the sidewalk outside the coffee shop. She took off one day when I was walking with her, scooting around the car, into the busy street, then back on the sidewalk , swinging her pocketbook. After my heart stopped pounding, I asked her where she was going, and she said "shopping".
She says please and thank you when reminded, blows kisses when I leave, and is an enchanting little girl. Potty training has been low key, but she knows she can't go to "school" ( ie, day care) three days a week until she's potty trained. There were a few months of accidents, all handled calmly, "Did you forget to go potty?". There were days and days when she refused to sit on a chair, because she remembered having an accident on it! And suddenly, she's wearing very cute, adorable Hanna's underwear, and walking for hours without any accidents.
She's amazingly social, very physical, and goes along with life, minute to minute, day by day, with a sunny outlook - she is, after all, a much loved little girl with many grandparents and parents that love and respect her.......
The other day, she announced Odie ( her black lab) had a broken leg, and used her Mom's stethoscope to "check " his dire situation. She then announced she was going to be an animal doctor - and diagnosed her Mom with TWO broken feet. She's a hoot - and a total joy.

(I have to be careful because most of them read my comments here so I must say they are all wonderful, loveable adults now)
Bridget! Thanks for taking a peek at my Izzie!
