Great photos. I saw the others in your gallery first. Must have been a fun time.

We celebrated here last night by having an ice cream geocaching event. Of course cachers celebrate the longer days for diffeent reasons - more daylight to cache!

Thanks for this, Mariana. I didn't know Santa Barbara, or any other city for that matter, celebrated summer solstice. Didn't the pagan Celts celebrate Mid-Sommer Eve?
I think all solstices should be treated as a holiday.

BTW I have been to the Santa Barbara gardens of native plants. That would make a nice subject of a pictorial essay.

Oh yes, Santa Barbara is such a lovely town. I didn't know about this parade, though, and am impressed that it exists. But then again, it is California.:) Lovely photo essay!
