Thirteen months ago I published a photo essay regarding a dear 37 years old friend and co-worker named Carlos, who was afflicted with ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's disease. I'm hoping you remember, if not here's the URL:
Walking to D'Feet ALS - Photo Essay
This morning we received word Carlos' battle is over...he's gone home. Please remember Carlos family in prayer. I write this poem in his honor...
Dancin'
No more shackles, no more chains,
Paralyzed body, none remains
No more sorrow, no more tears,
Earth bound family no more fears!
He's not just a walkin' on Heaven's street.
Rather he's a dancin' on glorified feet!
No more hurt, no more pain,
Earth's no more, Heaven's gain.
Streets of gold, glorious indeed
Praisin' His glory, for now he's freed
He's not just a walkin' on Heaven's street.
Rather he's a dancin' on glorified feet!
Look an see his smilin' face.
The battles over, he's won the race.
Heavens gate opened an' opened wide.
He walked in with a joyous stride.
He's not just a walkin' on Heaven's street.
Rather he's a dancin' on glorified feet!

fighting that is a rough battle - his peace is well deserved...Lynn Boo outstanding poem and beautiful tribute to Carlos.
I know at least 8 people from Louisiana all who were associated in some way with the sugar cane industry who died from this disease - I wonder if certain chemicals bring it on. Thanks for this article - it's reminder for all of us to count our blessings. Salud.
God bless anyone who is afflicted by this horrible disease...
But one part of me rejoices to know that he is dancing on the streets of glory.
I, too, have lost a friend because of this disease. He, too is with the Lord now.
God comfort all of those who are left behind until one day we meet again.
