The grandkids and I went to the park yesterday. Just as we drove up to the entrance of the park, big ole raindrops hit the windshield. I told the kids we may have to head back home, but as we hit the parking area, the rain just stopped. Talk about luck.
We brought a picnic with us. We had a real picnic basket filled with sandwiches, chips, grapes, strawberries and cookies. Sodas came along too. We even had a blanket for the ground. No picnic table for us. We planned a real picnic on the ground.
I tried to get the kids to play for awhile just in case it decided to rain again, but they were adamant about being hungry. We spread our blanket out, got out the food and had a grand picnic.
After eating, the kids went straight to the playground and proceeded to meet some new friends. All the while, I kept a lookout for those darn rain clouds. In between checking out the clouds, I dove into the current novel I am reading.
One good thing about the clouds was that it kept the sun from constantly beating down on us...thank goodnes. That made the 90 degree heat bearable.
OK...so I got a little bored and went walking around, looking for photo opportunities and although things were pretty sedate, I did take these shots.

Rain threatens Nana's picnic.

Crows all around looking for handouts.

Playground equipment to keep little ones busy.

My grandson, Dominic, with a new found friend.

My granddaughter, Zoe, just hanging out with some new friends.

The Lake at the park. Look at the clouds. Rain ,maybe?

Pretty neat shot of a squirrel bounding up the tree.

I can be pretty bold if food is on the agenda.

Food...it's hear, I know it! I can smell it!

I know it's in here. I just don't want to fall in.

Got it!!! The original Dumpster Diver or Trashcan Trollop.
