OK, I actually had to read this one a couple of times to grasp what I was reading.
Workers at a Catholic charity in Virginia actually provided transportation to and from the clinic and signed the authorization form for the girl to get an abortion.
"There were significant supervisory errors that resulted in a failure to do everything possible to avoid the abortion," said the letter, signed by Bishops Francis X. DiLorenzo of the Richmond diocese; John C. Wester of the Salt Lake City diocese; and Michael P. Driscoll of the Boise, Idaho diocese
Now regardless of which side of the issue you fall on, this whole thing just sounds a bit shady. I would expect the Bishops to be flipping out, or condemning the people who helped get the abortion. I mean, if this happened at a Planned Parenthood, there would be mobs protesting in the streets. But they have sort of quietly chalked it up to "supervisory errors."Â
This is currently being investigated by authorities, because on top of everything else the charity received federal tax dollars (which cannot be used to fund abortions).
Anyone want to bet we learn that this isn't the first time an illegal immigrant has been "helped" to obtain an abortion. Maybe I'm being a conspiracy theorist, but something tells me this wasn't a one-time exception.Â

Please, this is about an ILLEGAL immigrant. I appreciate you, Juan; but I DO expect you to be honest.
I have heard some fiery sermons about abortions there. If this is true, a revolution win ensue.
Please understand that the practice of abortion is horrifying, and you must give credit where credit is due...all life is sacred; everything else is irrelevant.
I WHOLLY agree with the protection of the mother, Juan. Have I made a statement to the contrary?
"Rape," on the other hand, is a very ignominious, SUBJECTIVE, and convenient excuse, Juan. In todays cultural schizophrenia, a woman can "decide" in the next day or two THEREAFTER, that she has been "raped," if, in retrospect, she didn't care for the style of the man's clothes. Or, she could simply get BOMBED, "have a good time," and then press charges, if she so wished.
We must do better than THAT, Juan, don't you think? I'm not trying to force my morals on others; I think we need to do better than that. And you know that abortions are being doled out like "the morning after" pill.
Not a clever way to run a Society.
Apparently you are another one of those "right-to-life" folks that places no value on the rights of women. Your true colors just came out.
Do me a favor..keep your vile, woman-hating comments away from my articles. And I'll make sure to keep myself far, FAR away from you. And considering your stance, I'd suggest all women do likewise.
I work for Catholic Charities (not in Virginia) and I am shocked by this. We are not even permitted to talk about birth control or abortions.
And I'll add my own two-cents.
Rape is not "subjective", and I think that unless one has ever been raped, they wouldn't know that. Rape is a horrible crime, that happens to women, girls, men and boys, children... It's NOT "subjective" based on going out partying, not liking someone's looks or whatnot after the fact. I find that extremely offensive and would venture to guess that you have no experience first-hand with rape or rape victims/survivors.
