It's Friday, so it's time for another edition of "Friday's Thoughts".

It's been a busy week here at my house. Over the weekend my sister, Katie, and her husband, Roy, evacuated Hull, IL and came to live with me. The entire town has just about evacuated just in case the Sny Island Levee gives way. If you watched the CBS Morning Show on Wednesday, Harry Smith was broadcasting from the Sny Island Levee.

The Sny Island Levee is about 54 miles long and protects about 125,000 acres of land. We didn't live here in 1993, the last time we had a flood of this magnitude, but from what I understand, when the Sny broke, Hull was under water very quickly.

The river level here in Hannibal has dropped somewhat because of the levee breaks north of us in Gulfport, Meyer, and Indian Graves. We're supposed to crest on Sunday now at 29.4'. At 11:24am today we were at 26.9'. That's about 3' lower than we were at yesterday around 4pm.

Work has been going fairly well. One the residents in the group home I work in is so excited her church's choir is going to have a concert on July 5th at the Hannibal-LaGrange College.

I've just started reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer this morning. I'm about 100 pages into it right now, and so far it's rather intriguing.
