One of my favorite gospel stories is Jesus feeding the multitudes. I love it not so much of the power of the miracle itself, which is awesome, but for what the little boy offered to Jesus. As people were following Jesus around, they got hungry. Big surprise. Not only that, but they wanted a hand out. I can relate. Jesus asked the disciples what food they had and they shrugged their shoulders. But a little boy came with barley bread and a fish - a poor boy's packed lunch - and gave it to Jesus. With it, God did amazing things.
Isn't that a great example of what our lives should be? We have so little to offer, but when we present it to Jesus, he multiplies it. The same can be said for Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-a. As I write, I am literally reaping the blessings of what he gave to Jesus. His restaurants have had amazing success, and now he gives out free food whenever they open a new store.
I've been here all day, soaking up the sun. There are people from all around. They've come with their tents, coolers, aquapac bags and other luggage, uv protection clothing cornhole games, frisbees, 4 square balls and more. It's basically a big party, much like I expect the kingdom of God to be like in its fullness. I love it!
