Hello one and all! It is a beautiful day here in northern Illinois. Mid 70's and sunny. I hope it is just as nice where you live!
This week I would like to give you some tips on ways to make some extra cash. Some people think that unless you are make hundreds of dollars there is no point to the "little ways." But they are wrong. Any amount of extra cash that you are bringing in can make a difference in your life. Whether it is $20 or $200. That $20 can buy groceries for a couple of meals and $200 can help with a car payment or utility bill. Money is money no matter what.
This month I brought in an extra $275 by selling a camera I was not using, on eBay. Then I dug through my jewelry and found some broken and old gold that I was never going to wear again and sold that for $90. $365 selling things that will not be missed.
Someone here mentioned a web site called .....etsy.com I checked it out and found that it is a wonderful website where you can sell any handmade item you make. Not only that you can also sell craft supplies and photos. But the clincher for me was the fact that they only charge you 20 cents per item to list your item and then only 3 and a half % of your sale! You get your own store front for free, you can post 5 photos of each item for free and people just shop like they normally do online. You set up how you want payment IE: paypal, check, money order, etc. And since it is not an auction site, but a store, your stuff stays for sale as long as you want!
I have already set up my store: bumblebeequilts.etsy.com and listed 2 quilts. I am also planning on setting up another store for photography, but have not come up with a good name for it yet.
Another way to make extra dough from home is to look around your own neighborhood. Someone always needs a babysitter, dog walker, lawn mower or house sitter.
As most people know online there are tons of survey sites that claim to pay. Those can take forever to build up any sort of amount of cash and then they may not pay out at all.
But if you are willing to spend a few minutes each day filling out surveys and reading "emails" for cash some do pay.
The two that I have actually gotten cash from are:
Awsurveys.com (I made $75, but had to refer about 20 people for half that) It is free to sign up though.
Hits4pay.com (this site sends you links to look at for pennies each. Be warned: The links they send are money making ads, so ignore them! Just click the link and let it credit you, but do not BUY anything) I have made $25 from this site in 9 months. But it only took minutes each week and $25 is $25 that I did not have before.
But of course the best and most legit way to make money is through Gather itself! I made about $1,000 last year, just by doing what I love! Writing and posting photos! So if you are new here, get your initial 3000 points and then contact gather to switch to the cash option. Once you have those 3000 points, you do not need to get 3000 points each month to cash out. You can cash out when ever you like!

a few months ago I
started an eBay Store to get rid of some of my stuff and a lot of my
deceased Moms'. Fifteen dollars a month and a THREE CENT listing fee for flat price inventory.
I have been pretty pleased with it.
Doc..that is great! I did not know ebay did that!
I am tutoring Korean students in English and Freelancing.
Quit my job because my job paid too little and was too hard on my body. Now I can make more for less effort.
thanks all!!
Kathryn, that is awesome!

I've got two little money saving methods that really do add up:
1. When I get a discount by using coupons or a store card, I bank the difference. For example, if my total before coupons was $50 and my discounts brought it down to $45, I bank $5.
2. Never spend dimes. Put them in a jar each day. Go ahead and laugh, but we saved more than $600 in a year this way and bought a sofa. You'll never miss the dimes and your savings will grow.

And this may sound dumb, but THANK YOU for spelling out the gather deal so simply. I'm here to write/exchange, so haven't been driving my writing with a goal of money but have not been able to understand what my points mean, etc. They just seem to trickle along to nowhere...until your article.
Anyhow, I always love your ideas...keep 'em coming!
Print up a few "10$ / h General Work" business cards. Walk the streets of a nearby neighborhood on any given Saturday and distribute your cards while meeting with new people there.
The calls will then come rolling in, non-stop, for months on end. Stick to "General Work" and leave the specialty stuff to trained experts. This will make your work days easier.
Declare your revenues and live a happy life.
