Today Kyleigh got injured again. The teacher said she fell in the playground and scratched her face. So, there is a little red patch on her left cheek. You can see it in the "I Am Cool" picture.
I was a little annoyed (I think the teachers should supervise better), but I was not nearly as upset as her first injury. I guess I am growing to accept that "accidents happen". I don't know if this is a good thing or not. Do I not care as much any more?

When my youngest was 18 months old, he had "horns" (bumps) on either side of his forehead from falling down! (he was a late walker)

You dont care any less then you did yesterday or weeks ago. You are just seeing that she is growing more and more everyday. With that comes new things, including cuts, bumps, and bruises.
Just remember, children will get injured from time to time, even in your own care, you can't always prevent it!
It is perfectly normal though to be defensive about your child, and I do understand your frustrations. I was like that too before I actually worked for a preschool!
Yes I know it happens. And yes, she fell in front of my eyes too. I do know it is very hard for the teachers at day care to keep up with all the kids. I am not really "mad" mad.... I just "wish" they could have done better (but I know I am not doing perfectly either).
Thanks again, everyone.
I sure hope she doesn't get TOO adventurous.
