At my kiddos school usually the classroom who collects the most at the end of the year gets a party either pizza or ice cream..

my grandsons school gives prizes to the kids in the class that collects the most each month...and no matter how many we sent from here his class NEVER won!!

Hum, sounds like I should start saving them for Kyleigh. Then she will be the coolest kid in class to bring in a huge box of those things.

The box tops expire though. I guess I will still give those away so I don't waste them, but keep the soup labels myself.

I am the Coordinator for our school! It all depends on the coordinator and the PTO. We give out monthly prizes to the top TWO children who submit the most each month! They each get a certificate and a special prize.

We also have quarterly contests for the class who brings in the most, they get an ice cream party!

My kids always had an ice cream party for the class that collected the most. So I would save them up if you can. You daughter's school may do something similar.

Okay, just how does someone help out a school with box tops if no one in the household is going to school? I'd feel somewhat silly taking a bagful of them to the principal's office.

Each school is different, but all of the ones I know that do it do something special. Zander got a few gifts this year, for being in the class that collected the most. His class was on top all year. They made a big deal out of the 100th day of school now, around here. So for the 100th day of school I sent in 100 box tops. That was $10 for the PTO. His teacher loved it and send a nice card home with him.

I know alot of the schools around here do not take the campbells labels anymore, because they are only worth a penny. They have there focus on the boxtops because they are worth a dime. Keep an eye on the box tops, because they do have dates on them. She still got a few years before she starts school, so you might want to keep giving them away or dropping them off at your local ele. school.

the box tops EXPIRE so watch the dates, in our school the PTA offers a "prize" ( an ice cream party, silly stringing the VP, an extra recess, etc.) for the CLASS that sends in the most box tops. As far as I know the campbell labels do not expire. but they are not worth as much either.

It depends on your child's school. Some reward the student's classroom with a party or do something special for the child and the class that brings in the most box tops and labels.

It has been so long since I have saved box tops and soup labels, so I don't know what if anything the student gets.

Ohhh.... Thanks! I didn't know the soup label is only ONE penny. Geesh, that's cheap.

Yes I do know the box tops have expiration dates. I will have to give those away.

Edward - I don't know if you know anyone who's collecting for their kid. For me, I have several coworkers collecting them, so I give them out at work.

it depends on the school
some schools give rewards for sending them in, some dont
My son's school gave a no uniform day for 15 box tops.
But we are a small school
The soup you can save, but save the whole label, as they have changed what they wanted. Its like 5000 for a ball, but its something you would be throwing away anyway.

depends on your school pta what is done with the points, as they do expire watch carefully what you save..
Want to help direct what goes on at school,join the schools pta, "big brownie points" with the teachers,helps less work for them in fundraisers and such.and a good way to keep in touch with how your child is doing in school.

Our school buys prizes that are raffled off at assemblys books ect.. and the class with the most has a ice cream party/or pizza party.. Sometimes even a class pet !!
