Wow, I Found Something That Is Not on Wikipedia!

A local Freecycle member posted "Mylar balloons". I didn't know what that was, so I tried to look it up on Wikipedia. And I found nothing! I am amazed because I thought you could find anything on there.

Just thought it was funny.

They do have a lot of stuff in there too, Maybe you could do a write up about what you find about it.

I'm surprised that something as common as that isn't on there. Usually Wikipedia has everything. I'm always amazed how up to date their information is sometimes too. If you look up info on a TV show or something, they almost always have information up to the last episode that just aired or maybe one or two behind.. or a song that just came out.. so people work hard to keep stuff updated and maintain those entries. I looked up something the other day and it wasn't on there. ..can't remember what it was..but it wasn't something like Mylar balloons, which you would figure would be there.

Mylar is used to create the fancy balloon shapes typically seen at the florist. Apparently, they're made of some type of conducting material, as a Mylar balloon cause arcing if it comes into contact with a power line. So, it's probably a very bad idea to use them outdoors, just in case.

Think you got to specific in your search of Wiki. While it may not have an entry on a specific use of Mylar, I suspect that there is an entry on Mylar and balloons being one of its common uses that most of us are familiar with that use will probably be mention in an article on Mylar.

I just checked, and Wiki does have an article on Mylar. I'm amazed at how updated some of their articles too. Within 30 minutes of Ted Kennedy being diagnosed with a brain tumor his biography in Wiki had been updated.

There is a lot of stuff not on Wikipedia such as music group's albums, definition of words and even album cover artwork, which I found to be strange since I have usually found most things on there.

I am shocked at some of the info I find on wikipedia. Such simple things you can usually find.
