Today is the first day of a long stretch of time off for me.
My Wednesday evening class finished up last week. I only teach Mondays & Tuesdays now... regularly, anyway. Next week is Reading Week, so no classes. The following week, Canada Day falls on the Tuesday .... so none of my Monday class (me included) wanted to have class on the Monday and then have Tuesday off... so we cancelled that one.
Which means that I am off from today until July 7. I do have one one-day workshop in the middle of that - but still .... it is a very nice block of time to have off....off... OFF!!!!!
And I get another stretch of time off during the last 3 weeks of August as well.... expect that will be busier though, what with moving to Peterborough and all.
Anyway.... anyone that knows me knows that off rarely means idle... and I do have a list of stuff I want to get done over the next couple of weeks.
- Do my morning pages (journalling) every day
- Finish my novel, and send each of the short stories and poems I have completed off somewhere for consideration
- Write final draft of letter of complaint re: student loans & NOR-DON and get that sent out
- Write a proposal and draft a paper re: the topic of eros in adolescent literature
- Get through at least 3 of the 5 sections of my psychology course and do the online tests for each
- Do the research interviews for my psychology paper (2 of those are likely to involve a day trip to Kitchener where I will get to do lunch with my friend Chris who I haven't seen in forEVER)
- Do all the reading re: the course I'm TA-ing next year @ Trent - I have the syllabus and most of the readings - the rest I can pick up either online or at a used book store
- Get two computers fixed -one for Ross' store so that I can have my laptop back, the other for Jess so that she will quit WHINING
- Clean my car
- Find the gift certificate for a play that we have here somewhere and then find something to go see
- Start on my scholarship applications for PhD ....and research PhD options too
- Figure out what my course schedule for Trent is likely to look like - and work on finding a place to live there, too
- Finish scanning the pictures I want from Andrea's boxes so that I can give those back when I deliver the computer to the kid
- Put the pictures I have for my mom into the album I have for my mom and send it to her
- Go fishing
- Watch stOOpid judge shows
- Gather
- Write articles for the Tay Township Community Magazine (even though I am SO NOT IMPRESSED with what they did to my first one. DUH! They "edited just a little wee bit" .... cut the first sentence completely. Since the second sentence answer the question posed in the first, it did NOT make for a good lead into the article.)
I think that's got it about covered - but I'm sure I will think of more things to add to it :)

Wow.
And I still spend time playing Diablo and stuff, so there. Need that wind-down time.
If that's your "to do" list when you're off, I'd hate to see your list for working days.
Have fun.
Catch lots of fish.
I Love fishing.
Good luck.
O = OUT
F = FOR
F = FUN
got it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Do I need to break it down any simpler????
On the bright side, if you say "busy busy busy" to Sophie, she smiles really big. : )
And.... Canada Day. Wow. I think we need an America Day. (or is that the 4th of July?)
Craig Ferguson (giggity!) loves Canadians. : )
What break - you are still going full steam - what part of the term OFF - as in turn off work related activities - and enjoy a l e i s u r e l y day don't you understand?
Have fun - go fishing first!!!
