A couple days ago we got hit with a string of thunderstorms. It wasn't too bad here because it kind of went around us (the good thing about having mountain cover), but some areas around us got hit with marble sized hail and the likes.
It started out not too bad, just a little bit overcast and such.

But the wind started to kick up and it started getting pretty dark out (especially considering it was still in the afternoon), so I went out to check again.

Well, when I came back in I told Ma that it looked like we were going to get a storm (not that that was much of a surprise because there had been storm warnings all day long). Not five minutes later, it started getting REALLY dark and the wind became nasty.

A little while after this, and the rain let loose. It wasn't too bad at first. Just a regular rain shower with intermittent thunder.

A couple minutes later, though, and we had a torrential downpour that was louder than the thunder itself! We had some pretty nasty lightening hitting not too far away from us, but it didn't really cause any damage. Power went out once, but only for a minute or two.

Then, finally, the storm began to clear and the rain became a lot lighter.

We were lucky to not have gotten any hail. A little ways away on both sides they got pretty bad hail, but not us. All in all, the storm didn't last very long, but it was a pretty nasty storm considering how short-lived it was. But, as always, we were pretty happy to see the storm clouds moving away and the sun starting to show itself again.

I did manage to get part of the storm on video, too. If you're interested, you can see it here.
