The Longwood Symphony Orchestra goes to London!

I can't believe I'll be heading to London in just a few days! 

The Longwood Symphony Orchestra is going on our first international tour!  This is no simple orchestra tour, however.  The Longwood Symphony, made up largely of physicians and medical researchers, is dedicated to serving and supporting medical charities as well as performing in the concert hall.  And on our tour, we will continue this tradition, with Marie Curie Cancer Care (one of the UK's oldest and largest charities for cancer care) receiving the proceeds from the three concerts we will be playing in London.  Members of the orchestra will also be playing chamber music throughout our days there.  Patients receiving chemotherapy will have their day brightened with a little Mozart or Haydn (I'll be playing some flute quartets and a violin/viola duo).

The trip also makes possible a unique exchange of ideas across the Atlantic.  The Longwood Symphony includes many leaders in the field of cancer care, and they will be giving presentations to the London medical community, along with leading experts from the UK.
