Question of the week... Do you fly the American flag?

June 14th was Flag Day. Did you fly the flag or do you fly the flag regularly? When you see an American flag flying at someone's house, what do you think?

Fly it on occasions and weekends. Whenever I see a flag waving I think there is a proud American!

My family has always flown the American flag. My father, a veteran, was a huge patriot. He passed on this pride to all of us. That is why, now that he is gone, I have and will continue to fly Old Glory, as a reminder of just how lucky we are to live in the greatest country in the world and in honor of my father and every other veteran who stood up when his country calle upon him or her.

If my apartment allowed me to I would...my dad was career military, so I have great love and respect for the flag...when i've owned my own places i've flown it with pride, and once I own another home i'll proudly fly one again.

I have several flags inside on the fireplace mantel. I decided not to fly a flag in my yard as I see so many who have let their flag tear up in the wind and not replace them. I find that very disrespectful. If I could find a flag that would hold up...I might consider a flag in my front yard.

We fly a flag in the summer but not in winter. They just get torn up so bad in winter from the weather here.

we dont have a flag pole or anything, but if i did i would fly one. i think they are a great symbol of national pride and support for our country and troops

I fly many I run a mobile home park. and personally i fly 3 year round, and 1, 24/7/365

with a flood light on it at night, and on special days & holidays I fly my dads flag on the big pole in front of the park it's the big flag they use on the casket and give you afterwords.

I fly the US flag 24-7 with a spot light on it at night.I have a large flag pole,underneath the US Flag ,I fly our State Flag.I also have a smaller flag pole where I fly the POW-MIA
Flag.

Yep and my "Don't Tread On Me" flag and one that was combat flown in Iraq on 5 different missions hanging on my wall.

Funny story. My dad who is in a nursing home now, used to fly the US and Texas flag. We live in Idaho. Dad loves his home state of Texas. Elderly Neighbor came over and exclaimed "Is that your Homeland flag"
"Why, yes" Dad replied proudly
The elderly lady made us laugh "All these years I thought you were from Mexico, didn't realize you were from Puerto Rico"
I held dad back.

That was one of the 1st things we did when we moved in our house 11 years ago ... order a flag pole. So our flag gets hung PROUDLY daily with gratitude for our soldiers and the freedoms they have provided for us.

Once I move in with my future Husband I will be flying one everyday, at my apartment, I can't. So, I opted for American Flag stickers for my car, I have one on each side! I can't wait to start flying the new flag I won! Thank you again!

I flew the flag for Flag Day, Memorial Day, D-Day, and will fly it for the 4th of July and Labor Day, most assuredly. I fly the flag on regular weekends as well. I would fly it every day, but I'm concerned because there are times I don't get home from work in order to take it in before sundown. I am proud to fly the flag, and when I see it flying in front of someone else's home, I think they must be proud to be American, as am I.

I display mine in the front window. By the end of his century Old Glory will not be flown anywhere in the world when the illegal immirants gain the power that our congress is giving them (wellfare, Social Security Benefits, etc.), and the legal citizens are allowing it to happen. George Santayana said, "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. " Illegal immigrants from America into the mexican territory of Texas lead to the Battle of the Alamo and illegal immigrants making foreign land part of their Motherland! I am appalled by any flag flying over American soil that is NOT Old Glory!!

I love my flag and fly it on special ocasions. Otherwise "old glory" is folded (triangular) over my fireplace as its place of honor.

Yes, our flag flies 24/7, with a light at night. Flying the flag is important to us. We have to replace them often, but we believe it's the right thing to do. We take the old flags to the American Legion's drop box for proper disposal.

I proudly display my country's colors every single chance I get. My family has a very strong military history, in just about every branch of the US military. I don't have a lit flagpole at my house, but I've got flags everywhere inside.

I honestly have an american flag but I do not put it up untill fourth of july. Last year I did an awesome desplay of red white and blue stripes and my flag. I posted it alll on my door and showed everyone what freedoms I respect, honor, and obey. Otherwise I am not going to be doing a whole lot with the flag. I might put it up this year or I might not. I really do not want to damage my door with sticking the flag on there and having the kids steal the flag would be horrible. I think maybe if I do anything I might stick the flag on the tree and have it hang from there. I really do not know. Anyrate when I see someone hold the American Flag it brings me pride and joy and I know they are deep down an American citizen but unfortunatly no one flys flags except the school, post office, and other goverment building. They just do not fly the flag here in lynn

Yes. On my home, 365.
On my truck, bumper and rear view mirror (to remind me--daily.)
And at work, at my desk, in my cube (also as a daily reminder.)

There are 8 vets from Korea and 'Nam living on my street. They fly, too.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I flew the flag every day for 7 years. But someone wanted it more than I did and they stole it. Never had a problem before but I think someone has it in for us, 5 days ago someone stole the radio and cd player out of our car. We are both on Social Security and just cannot afford to replace it. I hope they at least respect it and enjoy it.

We have a flag decal on our front door, so in effect, it is displayed every day. But we always put up our flag outside on the days when it should be flown. As a member of the DAR I am very honored to fly that flag and think of all the veterans and those who support them.

Although I have applied many times to get a flag, from various sources, I have yet to receive one. I'm a proud vet, and love seeing the flag in someone's yard. Even the flags I was "definitely going to get" must have been intercepted somewhere. So, I unfortunately do not fly one. But I would if I could.
