It will be my Mom's 80th birthday in August and I want to be there to celebrate with her and my family and friends.
Last year I flew for $599 roundtrip from Florida to Germany - non-stop flight. Ah, the good old days:)
This year the cheapest I have seen is $1300 roundtrip - I have not been able to find any direct flights yet either. Orlando and Fort Myers had them - no more. So did Miami, FL.
I want to fly out of Tampa, FL if possible ..... destination Frankfurt, Germany. I'd like to book our two tickets this week - we are planning to stay for 3 weeks in August.

So all you clever gatherers - know of a good website or seen any good deals for a flight to Europe, Germany?
THANK YOU!!!

Marianne, I know, just shy of $1300 is the best I've seen so far - but, still sometimes you can find a promotion.
Keeping my fingers crossed! I'll be looking............
I have used travelocity.com to get tickets for Denmark.
Hope you find something!

I was trying to plan a vacation to Germany for this August way back in January the cost was astronomical. I tried using airline sites, the travelocity, expedia, and orbitz.
For my family to go it would cost us around $5000.00 and thats not counting food, or anything that we do while we are there. The flights were over $1000.00 then and the taxes eat you alive. I hope you find a decent priced ticket. We decided to wait another year. I did not want to spend that much knowing that in April my husbands company could go on strike.
We used to fly into Germany round trip for around $400 those were the good old days!
Good luck!
Looks like it will be 1500 for one, the 1300 ticket had a lay over for 7 to 9 hrs each way - no way am I doing that.
They are cutting flights right and left and connections are fewer too.
I couldn't take the one 1300 option left by LH, because they have different prices for different days and it just didn't work.
Looks like I'll be booking today - the prices are rising as we speak, no price guarantee even if you hold the reservation.
Your article got me wondering how much it would cost me to go to Europe this year compared to what I paid last year. I booked around this time last year for my trip in September. I was surprised it was only $214 more. I was expecting it to be much higher.
