So .... 3x points week is over. And there were an awful lot of articles published during it....so many that some of the good stuff might well have been overlooked. Was any of it yours?
Here's your chance to give it another go - let us know about your best article.... it doesn't have to be a recent one ... if your best is one of your older works, that's okay too.
Here are some of the suggestions that were offered last week:
- My recommendation was Jill Pazereckas' Neurology Lessons. And also, there is a lot of great content highlighted in Sue's What Makes A Gather Article Successful? Who Do You Read? and Ivy's Recommending Excellent Gather Writing
- Pat Bertram told us about an interesting chat about fiction that took place in Questions to Ponder
- Jenn K sent us to one of her favourite works, Why There Are Holidays
- amy s. posted Revere Beach, Oh what a Blast!

Here's your weekly primer re: creating a link :) As always, if you aren't able, post anyway and we'll do the link for you ... but just in case today's the day you're going to master it:
To Make Your Own Links
It really isn't hard. Here's how I do it:
I go to the article I want to make a link to in another window (or tab, depending on the browser), and do that copying thing.
Then I type <a href="">whatever I want the link to say </a>
Then go back and put your cursor between the quotation marks ("") and right-click and paste.
So - if I want to make a link to Umar Solo Mascogo's Anonymous Islands...I go there and click in the address bar of the article, then right-click, Copy (or I can use CTRL+C)
So http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977375025 is now in my clipboard
(or, as my friend Lorr used to tell me, in my mouse)
<a href="http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977375025"> Anonymous Islands</a>
becomes: Anonymous Islands

Hi Lynn :)
Rise - Daddy's Girl
and Rise - Daddy's Girl Part 2
Plus, it's a great way to link to other "best's" and I love that.
In a pique (can you say Hawthorne?) I deleted all my articles from before that time.
I can't remember if I highlighted this one before, but I wrote a 3-parter about my life in Australia. Although many people commented in part 2 that they were anxious to read the next chapter, it took me so long to publish it that most of them never saw it (or at least did not comment). So, for anyone who is interested, here is part 3:
Renovation/Dissolution (35 Archbold Road Part 3)
My work in progress, an apocalytic novel, was languishing, so I decided to do a character sketch for my hero to see if I can get on the right track.
Creating a Character -- Part VII
