We shot a wedding in Carillon Beach Friday night. I kidded the Groom that at least he'd always be able to remember his anniversary, since the chapel had been booked for every weekend day but Friday the thirteenth this month.
It's kind of an odd process, becoming invisible, I had plenty of practice last year so I am well set for it.
I got there just a little early and had to look out the window while the Bride and her Maid of Honor got dressed and the 'boss' issued event instructions.
The wedding looked great thru the big glass doors of the chapel, I lurked about outside, tossing beer cans, half drunk plastic cups and moving umbrellas that would be in the exit shots...
At one point I walked up to a lady, about my age and explained that "you are forever going to be known as the 'Woman In The Grey Running Shorts', if you keep standing there when they march down the aisle."
She was quick enough to 'get it' and hustled off just in time.
The only real downside to the affair was that, One I didn't meet any suitable ladies, like I usually do, and Part B. it was 92 degrees and about 96% humidity.
In pretty short order, chasing the 'boss' around the reception I was soaking wet.
Any semblance of comfort was killed by the beach shots where there was not a BREATH of breeze and the humidity HAD to be over 100%.
I got away about dark and walked the mile and a half or so back to the truck, only to find that I had left my lights on. It had been lightly raining when I got there and I simply didn't see them on OR hear the chime, concentrating on getting to the job.
One of the guys and I pushed the little truck off and I got home OK, but didn't get to go see the band play that night as I had planned.
Long day, mostly hot. Good Money. Just wonder why I was depressed this week.

Lloyd, what is a suitable lady anyway? Just curious.
Frankly I seriously doubt you are ever invisable! Nope, not ever.
Depression, some days are just worse than others. Even with my meds I have bad days. Days when I can't seem to get up out of the bed, or motivate to even eat anything. Those days are hard. No reason just bad. But there are fewer of them now.
Good luck hon, with your depression.
Hope today is a better and much less depressing day for you.
Lisa is a lovely very married former model turned photographer.. I was hired to hand cameras and switch lenses, batteries, cards... she seems happy that I can say things like 'you are blocking the highlight in her left eye'.
the pushy wedding planner is a whole 'nother article!
You are growing. that IS good!
the first wedding I ever shot on my OWN was in 1973...
but thanks,
L.
